I visited Mirror Tea House for a relaxing dinner, and it was exactly what I hoped for! The atmosphere was my favorite aspect: with only a few tables, it had a sophisticated yet laid-back vibe, complemented by soft music that made conversation easy. The food was also delightful—my favorites were the avocado bites and the salmon entrée. The entrées are hearty and perfect for sharing between two people, especially if you order a starter. I've lived in the area for a long time but just visited this restaurant for the first time today, and I was truly impressed. There's a takeout window for tea and coffee, and the indoor dining area, which requires you to take off your shoes, is beautifully decorated and accommodates only six guests at a time. The food was outstanding and quite unique, and the selection of sake and sake cocktails was fantastic. The host was incredibly attentive to our needs, even creating a custom hot sauce for us during our meal. It felt very personalized. I can't recommend this place highly enough!
Visited this part of Brooklyn from out of town and was hoping to stumble upon a truly unique eatery while walking the neighborhood. This was it. The sake slushies and tea-infused sakes are potent and unique in flavor. The selection of food and drink is outstanding for such a small place. Other than the attention to detail in the dishes, what really stands out is the ambience. Everything from the menu design to the warm lighting makes you feel that a lot of careful thought has been put into your dining experience.
It was such a memorable experience that we are, by all means, planning to take 3-plus hours of trains up from Philly at least 2-4 times a year just to have it again. This tranquil and immaculate brownstone café features a soothing and inviting interior designed by Hiroyuki Arima, one of Japan's top architects. The ambiance is like a living haiku, making it an ideal spot for poetry readings, performances, or simply enjoying one of their unique and delectable "special teas." I give it a flawless five stars, shining brightly like a clear night sky!
I decided to stop by for some tea, and I'm so glad I did! The hojicha latte and spicy hot chocolate were absolutely delightful. However, what really caught my eye was the rest of the menu, especially the sake. I'm excited to return and try all the intriguing sake teas and cocktails they have available!
