Miss Toya’s Creole House

I visited Miss Toya’s Creole House for Sunday brunch with a friend, and it was our first time trying the place, something we’d been wanting to do for a while. I ordered the Crab Shrimp Omelet with grits, a side of pancakes, crab deviled eggs, and peach lemonade. The omelet was good overall, but I was disappointed to find the crab was imitation crab. The grits, deviled eggs, and peach lemonade were fantastic! The pancakes looked appealing but tasted a bit off to me, almost like raw dough. Despite that, I’m definitely planning to come back—there are so many delicious options on the menu. Price per person was around $30–50.

The food at Miss Toya’s Creole House is delicious, and the staff are welcoming. However, I was served water in a cracked glass, which felt unprofessional. Overall, I’d rate the food 4 stars, service 2 stars, and atmosphere 3 stars. Expect to spend between $50 and $100 per person.

The food at the Gaithersburg location was quite disappointing—bland and tough, with dry meat. However, the gentleman who took our order was very kind. Food: 1 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3 Price per person: $20–30
