I used to come here years ago and always thought it was good. Came back with my husband and we ordered a few of their speciality rolls. The rolls were huge but not in a good way. They were so big we had to deconstruct them in order to make them edible. They use a crazy amount of rice in their rolls. The fish was very fresh and everything tasted fine. It just wasn’t appetizing looking at these massive rolls with stuff piled so high. I got a New Century roll and they “dressed” the plate with tempura flakes and all of this other “stuff” which got stuck to the rice so it changed the whole flavor of my roll. It was really strange. One of the best sushi places my wife and I have had in the last few years. Maybe best ever! Large restaurant. They fit us in during dinner rush even though we didn’t have a reservation. It’s clear many of the other folks were regulars because the staff knew them. Great service. Reasonable prices. Chill vibes. We ordered a hibachi plans and accidentally ordered the wrong sushi combo and it was still some of the best sushi we’ve had! Highly recommend this place! Super nice downtown in Chatham too. My wife and I have been coming to Mitsuba for many years and have never had a bad experience. We ate there just last night, the appetizers rolls and sashimi we got were fresh and delicious, as always. The food is excellent, the service is good, the atmosphere can be a bit noisy but nothing too outrageous. If you're looking for good sushi near Chatham, Mitsuba is a great bet. I have been coming here for dinner with my friend since 2016. The food is consistently excellent. We normally get two or three different types of sushi a hot dish.
