I'm disappointed because I really want to give this place a 5-star rating. Unfortunately, I feel I have to rate the weekday service a 1/5, while the coffee deserves a solid 5/5. Let me start with the positives: I love their milk-free options, the quality of the espresso, the location, the café itself, and the outdoor seating area. However, I can't overlook the unfriendliness of the weekday staff. On the other hand, I adore the usual weekend employees! I enjoy stopping here before a Sunday stroll through the farmers' market. a great little coffee shop! I stopped in a lot of time, in which just for a hot black coffee and it's always exactly what I needed. I also love their only coming home and while it is a little more expensive, always really enjoyed it. I also tried her peanut butter cup square thing and it was exactly the sweet leak I was looking for. I love the sea salt added above. salty sweet is never bad. I also got her over night-horse from garnish (local to nj I think they have in the refrigerator and could eat those really every morning. this is a small room only for the order, but they have two or so tables furnished outside. perfect small place to grab and go!
The only coffee shop with best quality coffee open before 9:00 am in Jersey City Heights! I was looking for a Cafe to stop by before going in to work. I had stopped by two new coffee shops in town and unfortunately they were still not opened. I was hoping to find Modcup open and to my surprise they open at 7:30 am. I was really content and satisfied to know this solid coffee spot to stop by every time I need a latte. Which by the way, the friendly barista knows how to make it. Ethiopian coffee grain and oat milk no sugar... Just the way I like it. If you are in town, give this place a visit. Hope you enjoy!
High quality coffee beans and fresh baked treats, I just wish they do a proper pour over… I can make drop coffee at home… they have a pour over machine in the coffee shop, but didn’t use it : I also wish they had more seating inside… I heard it was better back in the day. The coffee here is fantastic, and the guy at the counter is really friendly. I deducted a star because it wasn't easy to find out about all the products they offer. I would probably try something different if I were aware of the entire menu.
I mean what can you say, they have amazing coffee and they take their time with it which is nice because you don't always need to be in a rush in life and you often find yourself chatting with the folks there. Bring cash for tips!
