Looking for a quick Friday lunch and found this restaurant at the top of Smith Street. Industrial, demolital, retro, chic for want of a better decor description pretty much sums it up. Whilst there is a specials board each table has an order form that you tick off what you want and and it is cooked in a food caravan/come kitchen in front of the dining room. We chose to sit in the quirky al fresco area. Great burgers, steak sangers, and salads nicely presented and cold beer and cider on tap. Not sure if there is air conditioning or whether it just wasn't turned on inside so the dining room was a bit stuffy. great work for the fantastic makeover of mollies, complete with a lovely atrium, guys. it was such a lovely experience eating under the ferns.food was also very satisfactory - wednesday night special parma served was enormous with a big serving of very fresh green salad. dirty chips were truly wicked with caramelized onion and a thick coat of cheese. but it was such a shame to find nonchalant staff on a quiet night. in hospitality, it is well known that it is not only food but staff that make or break a place. show some enthusiasm, boys - go around and chat up customers instead of looking half dead with boredom!then charging $1 surcharge for credit card is outright robbery!
We are a family of 5 and were immediately surprised with the retro / vintage look of the restaurant. This restaurant had no menu on the table it was presented on a black board next to the bar which was nice however it would of been good to be able to read the ingredients not just the name of the meal. All our meals came out with a good presentation and good service.The music inside defiantly fits with the theme of the restaurant. Nice touch being able to read the history of Mollie which was displayed around the venue. Overall a decant restaurant :-)
My son hosted his 30th birthday party at this venue on Saturday night. The venue was rustic and groovy adding a warmth ambience. It was perfectly decorated with ample spaces to mingle, sit, dance and socialise. Both food and bar staff were attentive, friendly and engaging. Food options were varied and tasty, the food was served regularly and expertly.We were most impressed with everything that Mollie's had to offer.Thank you to the staff who made my son's birthday very special. Visited Mollies on Sunday with my boyfriend. My meal was great, I had the halloumi burger, my boyfriend the cheeseburger and we shared some onion rings. All up I think we spent $40 which included a large soft drink and a pot of beer! Pretty good value for money considering the location. The decor inside is to die for, wish I took a few pics! The menu is also friendly to vegetarians and has gluten free pizza options.
I've visited Mollie's several times in the past couple of months, but had a particularly good afternoon there on Saturday.The outdoor rooftop area is airy (even with smokers), decked out really nicely and spacious. There's also good range of decent wines, a good pub food menu and a great atmosphere. The staff are also very friendly.
8 adults rocked up for a late lunch. The young girl was a little slow but the meals did arrive as ordered. Scrumptious burgers and fries. Ideal for a wet cold Melbourne day. The heaters were on up in the veranda area which made things cosy yet light and spacious. Go UP the stairs and read the menu on the way. The orange place!
Great little joint with quite possibly the best cheeseburger in Melbourne. The staff are fabulous, the decor Devine, and the atmosphere totally relaxed and welcoming. I highly recommend this place for a casual relaxed evening. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
What a cool joint for a quiet drink with friends and a great meal. The staff were friendly and made you feel welcome. The burger and chips special was tasty and good quality. Great atmosphere and vibe highly recommend.
