This place feels exclusive from reservation to dining. Here’s why that’s a good thing: The space is so cozy and small, the service is warm and personal. Don’t rely on the guest photos the lighting is low, the music is not too loud. The tables are simple because they turn them over for the next guests with a quick flourish. We had fresh toasted bread on the table within minutes of seating, pasta dishes were served piping hot, and the sauces were perfect. I was given a thoughtful wine recommendation to compliment my pasta, and everything was delicious. We were sadly too full for dessert this time, but hope to return for another special occasion. Legit Italian food from legit Italian folks. Moltobene cooks everything to order! For the first time since I visited Italy 6 years ago, I finally found a restaurant that cooks risotto perfectly al dente. Clean plate club over here! Good sized portions. Delectable food. You won't be disappointed...unless you fail to make a reservation. Only 10-ish tables in the joint. Moltobene is a small bungalow-converted restaurant with a homey atmosphere and an upscale menu. Gelato is to die for too!
The Italian cuisine here is truly authentic and very impressive. We particularly enjoyed the focaccia. I ordered the carbonara, while my boyfriend chose the shrimp pasta. We also tried the chef's special appetizer, which featured large shrimp in a delicious tomato cream sauce. The carbonara was exceptionally good, with crispy pancetta that added a wonderful texture, and the sauce was simply divine. The sangria was decent, too. We are definitely planning to return—1000% for sure!
