There 's a reason Momoya has such a high rating, and it 's not because it 's good for a strip mall. It 's just good!It 's a small place that has dine-in and take-out. Quick, polite, and friendly service. It was difficult to choose what to order since everything on the menu looked good. The salmon bento had a generous piece of fish over sauce rice, a fried spring roll with a drizzle of sweet and sour sauce, a mini deep fried roll with unagi sauce (probably my favorite item—tempura fry on it was perfect), and a salad with a sesame dressing. This restaurant in downtown Renton serves a delicious dish of crispy rice with perfectly seasoned salmon and an array of flavorful sauces. Although the portions are only two pieces, they are bigger than the average salmon crispy rice serving. The only minor drawback is that I wish there was a better ratio of salmon to rice. However, the dish is served on a bed of fresh salad, which makes for a great contrast of textures and flavors and pairs well with the more oily, denser crispy salmon.The best part about this restaurant is that it has a parking lot, making it convenient to dine in or order takeout without worrying about finding a spot to park downtown. Don't let the humble environment deceive you here, the food is excellent! I was so surprised by the size of the bento box portion. I got the salmon teriyaki bento box, and not a single thing in it missed. The spring rolls were juicy and crunchy, the salad was refreshing, the roll provided was super tasty, and finally, the salmon and rice were SO good. The salmon was so soft, like kid you not better than a lot of salmon dishes I've ordered at other restaurants. Also, getting free tea and miso soup with my meal was definitely a plus. I will be coming back
Server dropped tray, he didn't realize there was miso soup on it, it splashed on me...stained my shirt, got on my face, table, etc. he was busy and didn't notice. Took awhile to get our food. Crispy rice was good, promising. I liked how crispy the rice was and the chunks of tuna. Negihama was bland, California roll was bland, never in my life have I used soy sauce to add flavor to sushi of any kind until today. Beef udon was meh. Restaurant is cute but I wouldn't come back. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite sushi spots in the Renton area. I've ordered from them at least 10 times and my favorite item, without a doubt, is the H2 roll. MUST TRY if you like rolls with tempura. I ventured out and bought my husband the chicken teriyaki bento box and he was underwhelmed. He liked everything else, though. I will try more of the menu, but it seems their sushi rolls are the star of their show.
Great quality food. Sushi was delicious and fresh. Tempura mix was crisp and not greasy. Our waiter did a fantastic job of managing walk in to go orders and waiting all the tables. It got busy and he managed to keep a smile on his face and make sure everyone was taken care of. I was hesitant to go here because of location, not my favorite, but it was very worth it. This will be our new to go sushi place! Highly recommend.
I didn't find the noodles to be particularly good here, due in-part to too much salt and meat that isn't tender enough. But many other reviews say the sushi is great, so I'll be back to try. I can say for certain that the service is outstanding, though.Food: 4/5
