we have stopped in this opposite mostly Spanish restaurants, but a few years ago migrated to monica, just for a change. had a great eating and promised that we would go back there. in this winter we visited in the tat monicas a series of times and found it as expected to be excellent each time. the restaurant itself is comfortable and monica itself is an entertaining host and offers a fast and professional service (as it is winter, the restaurant is really a two-person operation.) the wine list is also well selected and cheap, and we found the menu to be varied for us. I should point out that I cannot come to the pasta we have never tried. Instead we have worked our way through the appetizer...
As the name suggests, the owner, Monica, is from Sardinia. This is a family-run restaurant with charming and warm service, set in a peaceful courtyard just a short walk away from the beach. The menu offers a nuanced assortment of Italian cuisine proudly showcasing its...Sardinia roots. The careful attention to detail is delightful and impressive. The daily specials are always interesting. We stayed in a villa just up the street for ten days and we had three excellent meals there. You won't be disappointed.
A friend of ours recommended this gem of a restaurant 2 years ago. Twice a year, we visit Mijas and always make sure that a meal is had there. Monica is a fantastic host, warm, welcoming and ready to introduce you to the finest Sardinian...food. A good choice of starters and mains. However, as my sweet tooth has got the better of me as I’ve got older, may I suggest the Tiramisu for desert. Probably, the best I’ve ever tasted!
we have just spent a few days in cala de mijas, as always had a few meal in monica di sardinien. three nights from our 7 were spent in this restaurant because eating is simply wonderful. it is the only authentic Italian restaurant in this area that cooks everything from ground on. the pasta is amazing! our party was 10 people we received was exceptional! recommend this restaurant! this restaurant Is one of the best Italian I have visited. the meals were fantastic from starters to deserts. monica and her husband were very helpful nothing was to much trouble food was tasty and always hot would go back next time we go to...mijas used it 4 nights out of 7
A beautiful family run restaurant.monika and her brothers.food and service were excellent...lovely sea food pasta.will definitely go there again..can't believe they have been there 20 years and we haven't eaten there...what a find
I can not fault this restaurant, it was absolutely amazing and at such a good price. The food was Brilliant and so was the service, if visiting the areas you MUST GO, we throughly enjoyed our experience absolutely outstanding!!!!!
