beautiful library with five full level to explore. located in the middle of the city of halifax and accessible by many bus routes. by covid there are more safety protocols, such as no food or drink and must wear a mask all the time. but it is still a wonderful place to see only the architecture and in the fragrant and immersed by books of every kind. drive up to the fifth floor reading area to watch the passers-by on the jump garden road and take a great view of the city.
It was a lovely Wednesday afternoon when I visited the Central Library. The atmosphere has improved since the pandemic, and while masks are still encouraged, many people chose to come without them. Two new cafes have opened there, both of which deserve a visit. (To be fully transparent, I didn't try either of them during my visit.) There are also new outdoor seating areas available, so if you prefer people-watching over reading, you can just grab a chair outside.
This beautiful new library offers plenty of cozy spots for reading and relaxing. In addition to an extensive collection of books, there are many media materials and computers available. The cherry on top is the rooftop terrace! If I lived in Halifax, I would definitely come here every day.
It's one of the unique modern establishments in Nova Scotia, showcasing art and elegant decor in a cozy atmosphere. I felt completely at ease and enjoyed browsing through a variety of books. beautifully designed building! centrally located with bright rooms to read, learn or plan their next activity. often have planned free educational events that are open to the public. the top floor has a nice caffe, a small roof terrace room and a reading room with a wonderful view.
A was a very good experience. Knowledge, friendly, and helpful staff. Very thoughtfully laid out plan. Lots of computers to use, all covid19 friendly placements. The DIY section is open to the public on the 1st of March 2022.
What a great place. I knew it was good, but checking it out for myself was an entirely different experience. Will be regularly visiting.
