Our group of 6 had a disappointing experience at this restaurant before a show. Despite the good quality of the pinsas, they refused to accommodate any substitutions, making it hard for vegetarians to find suitable options. The roasted cauliflower dish was extremely spicy due to the Thai red chilis, rendering it inedible for many in our party. The service was lackluster, possibly due to the mandatory 20% tip added on to our bill, in addition to the tax and restaurant tax. With a total of $83 for a meatless pinsa, shared salad, and glass of wine, we found it to be overpriced. We will opt for another dining place next time we visit the City for a show. Warm, welcoming small restaurant with attentive servers. we had dinner here before show at the Warfield and it was a perfect location with only about a block and a half between the restaurant and the venue. Although San Francisco has cleaned up his act a lot, it’s still a little dodgy in some areas so we were on alert. The restaurant itself has a simple menu of pizzas and salads and we had a special pistachio tiramisu for dessert which was perfect. As we vegetarians were always looking for restaurants that have a wide variety of non meat options and this restaurant did. we had the roasted cauliflower salad to start and then a margarita pizza with mushrooms, absolutely perfect for a date! 
We enjoyed the food, especially the pizza but would not go back again due to the conditions of the neighborhood. Walking down the block felt unsafe and the street and sidewalk were covered with excrement. It was gross and I felt bad for the staff at Montesacro. We had been to their other restaurant in the Marina so that’s why we wanted to try this one before the theatre. We will stick to the Marina location and eat at home before the theatre. Such a sad state of Central Market Street.
We love this place. Super friendly service, small but workable outside dining area on the curb, and great great food! I can't believe how light and fluffy the Gnocchi alla Romana are...no idea how they do it but don't miss it. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Having just visited Italy, this was the closest to Roma style cuisine that we’ve experienced back in the states. The Proprietor was a true gentleman who visited our table and made our experience even better. Thank you!
The pinsa and polpo (warm tender octopus) was as tasty an experience as on our last visit. The prosciutto and melon was a refreshing appetizer and the service was excellent!
AMAZING little spot! Fantastic, simple fresh food, excellent wine and outstanding service. Will be a regular stop for us with we're back in the city!!
