We have been here on a number of occasions. There is a lot going for this restaurant. It’s kid friendly, with a good selection of kids meals. They are provide the little ones with a colouring activity set when you arrive to keep them occupied while your meal is being cooked. The food is good value. It’s not fund dining, but it’s also better than a Mexican fast food alternative. Drinks on offer are great with a good selection of imported Mexican beer as well as local staples. The cocktail options are well priced, but the real winner is their sangria which is around the $6 per glass which is reasonable. We really wanted to give this a five star rating but couldn’t. The worst mexican food that I can remember having. Enchiladas $17.90 for 1 lonely enchilada of standard size (would generally expect 3 or 4) approx 1 cup of rice 3/4 cup of frijoles, which appeared to be oddly similar to canned refried beans, but with maybe a touch less flavour a dollop of salsa. Nachos $13.50 for a smallish serve of corn chips with frijoles and very mild salsa in the middle, more like a chip n dip' arrangement. Guacamole $4.90 for approx 3 Tbsp. The enchilada also originally came out with dairy cheese on it even though the details had been specified to and confirmed by the waiter.
we visited the parkdale montezuma as a party of 3 vegans and 1 vegetarian to dinner, on the 15th birthday of my daughter. the decor is funny and funky and we were very happy with the separate vegan / vegetarian menu that offers a good choice. they use vegan cheese and sour cream, and the meals were a good size and very tasty. service was fast and friendly, and the price was reasonable to get $30 per head for a free and main meal. they also have a bar specializing in Mexican beer and cocktails. we're going back in any case.
very satisfied with eating and the attentive, friendly and scientific service (equipped with our waiter calum as well as from sandrine.) we visited this restaurant for the first time after hearing they had a vegan menu and were not disappointed by our vegans oriented. We were particularly impressed by the homemade vegan sour cream, which we thought was better than the purchased items. meals are a tad expensive as most Mexican restaurants, but served quite large.

The takeaway food was decent and the portions were generous. The shared appetizer was satisfying and we even had leftovers. The staff was friendly when we called to place our order, and ordering directly saved us money compared to using Uber Eats (no pick-up option available on Uber Eats at the time of writing).
Besides the parking, although on a Tuesday night it was ok, Montezumas restaurant was amazing. From the wonderful greeting at the door, the table service and the food, it was better than any other Mexican restaurant that ive been too. My party had a wonderful night, thankyou
The service at this restaurant was excellent from the moment we arrived until we left. I always order my favorite meal, which is the Beef Combination #7. It comes with 1 enchilada, a taco, chili con carne, and rice. It was absolutely delicious.
bad from start to end. dirty cutlery, cheese served on our vegan enchilada, small sizes, big prices, bland food, stale rice. Continue to bay city burrito in st kilda or hawthorn. so much.

I enjoyed my afteros. the sour cream was delicious. the vegan menu was diverse. it is the Aussie version of mexicans that I grew up and enjoy.
The restaurant serves delicious traditional Mexican dishes from the 80s and 90s, with excellent service. The margaritas were also quite good.
