On our way home from some business in Wayne NJ and I decided to take Rt 46 instead of the interstate to find a place for lunch. I saw the Montville Diner and pulled into their parking lot. We were immediately seated in their clean, orderly dining room. Our server, Tony, took our order and tended to my wife's dietary needs. With in minutes refreshing cold drinks are in front of us and a few minutes later our food arrives. Televisions are showing sports as I am enjoying Montville Diner's version of a cheesesteak sub. This was my first time dining at Montville Diner. I visited on a Sunday at 10:30am and was seated promptly. I ordered a House Club sandwich with Corned Beef and Pastrami, along with a side of fries. Despite feeling some regret about breaking my diet, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The sandwich was delicious and the fries were fluffy, just how I like them. The atmosphere was enhanced by the music of Lionel Ritchie and the Quick Draw lottery numbers on TV. Although not all ingredients were listed on the menu, the meal turned out to be fantastic. The staff were all friendly and cheerful, which added to the overall dining experience.
My husband and I were.visiting the area and happened upon a review for this diner. Our expectations were more than met! Our waiter Sergio was friendly, knowledgeable and always had coffee ready for me. My husband's waffle was light and airy and my Taylor ham and eggs was excellent. And, oh, the French fries are amazing! If we are ever back in the area, we will return!

This place surprised me. We went here on a whim when our usual place was busy and was pleasantly surprised by the breakfast. This is a classic Jersey diner. We all ordered pancakes and they were delicious. Service was super fast and they got the order perfectly. It was pretty quiet here for a Saturday morning, but maybe it just a well kept secret.
Amazing service! Every server that worked there seem to serve with a smile and positive attitude! My bf and I also enjoyed the architecture. It had a very “home-y” feel. I ordered a pastrami sandwich with a side of fries. The fries are out of this world and have many different flavorings too. My bf and I will be returning soon.
Why does this only 2.9 stars? I thought this diner was great the burger my wife had was cooked as asked med rare and the pastrami Benedict was great , French Fries here are damn good too , great waiter and great food on a Saturday on Memorial Day weekend with no blemishes at all you can't ask for anything else
In the past good had always been consistent good.... The jumbo stuffed shrimp was small shrimp with Tina in stuffing on top, and while I did see a few colors that indicated the crabmeat was included, it wasn 't enough to be able to taste very disappointed. Only ate 1; took the rest home but the it away.

Went for breakfast with my family and everything was so good! We loved our server, although, I can't remember his name and I feel bad. He said he's from Costa Rica so hopefully that narrows it down. But awesome server ! We had eggs and omelets and sides and everything was delicious.
Got a couple sandwiches for breakfast, they were great! Our waitress and all the team members we met were super friendly too. We'll definitely be back!
