First time at Moose Bawr and it was a great experience.Food was creative and delicious. Not the usual pub fare of burgers and fries, Moose Bawr seeks to make the hot dog the star.For our visit though we didn't end up eating hot dogs specifically, but had the large and very satisfying Moose Platter. The platter was a great way to sample a little bit of everything that Moose Bawr offers. The chilli could have maybe been a little thicker, but was still good.We did in the end get an order of Naked Dawgs which is two of Moose Bawr's delicious sausages without the bun. So let's be straightforward with this review and I have to admit that I love Moose Bawr, it has this student vibe that makes it so enjoyable to spend the night here. I always order my litter of Stella or a pint; however they have this thing called the boot which imagine a Santa's boot filled with beer. The food it's pretty good, I recommend the classic poutine or the shakira hot dog. Of course you also have unlimited popcorn since there's a popcorn machine self yourself at a corner. The service is relatively good, some employees are a bit slow. The place is clean, enjoyable and not too expensive. Visited the moose bawr on a Wednesday afternoon before Canada's world junior game. I was very surprised that there was not more people there. All the food on the menu (lots of good and creative pub choices) are under $5 and full litres of beer around $9-10. The server was friendly, the food was good, there was sports on TV. I saw they have specials during Canadiens games. This place is a hidden gem and I will be going back next time I'm in Montreal.
I've been to this place several times, mostly younger crowds, students , but it has never disappointed me with crafted beer and nice cocktails , this time quick easy tasty little fancy lunch menu for 4 bucks with my crafted beer was another thumbs up for them. Nice and friendly staff, always good music, and couple of slot games in the back with free pop corn to entertain yourself...
Nous dînons dans ce bar alors que nous venons d'atterrir. Les serveuses sont adorables et attentives. Nous mangeons local, poutine et hot dog servis avec des frites et arrosés de bière. La terrasse est directement installée sur la rue Ste Catherine ce qui rend l'endroit très vivant.
A tidy, rather dark place that has wonderful lunch deals for only 4$ (without taxes). You get a full plate of good stuff, nicely prepared. Service is quick, even if you only have 30 min lunch break, you can easily make it.
Just found this place by chance and was so pleased how relaxed it was. Good local beers, mixed sounds and lots of TV sport for those who need this. Place really hopping later in the eve and staff friendly and efficient.
Really great little bar with great service. Stopped by for a drink and was served almost immediately. Place is always packed, so getting seating might be a bit of a hassle, so think to get there a little earlier.
