We visited as a family group with four adults and two children, one in a highchair with a bad allergy, and had lunch on an extremely hot day. From the moment we arrived the service was fantastic. We were able to choose where we sat, inside in the cool! The waiter made us feel confident that the baby's allergy was understood and they made children's meals that were brought out early so they had time to eat. The waiter and waitress spoke English when we got stuck with our French. The food was beautifully plated with colours and variety. It tasted great too. After tramping all round the village trying to find the Hotel, when checking in we opted to dine in the Hotel Dining room, which turns out to be this Restaurant Morel's which I think is the Chef's name. What a fabulous treat, I used to avoid eating where I stayed, now I'm finding with maturity I have been missing out, especially when meals like the one here are presented, I'm not sure if that French Tyre Man has been here, if not he should, certainly as impressive as the last time I visited one of their recommended establishments. Returned to our room very happy and sustained, pleased to have has such a fabulous experience.
Many years now that we have come to fabrice morel and Co. Always a refreshing menu , different combinations from lam to fish , carpaccio to duck liver , cheese cake or strawberries. Everytime plates look colorful and tasty and you see the creativity at work. The interior is warm and spacious . The pool side terrasse refreshing and surrounded by palm trees. Staff is young and willing , always with Mdme Morel at reach. Hope to enjoy many more years.
We have only eaten here a couple of times but will be certain to return when we next visit the area especially with the Morel family team being back! We have holidayed in Aubeterre many times, eaten at pretty much every restaurant around the town, and have never enjoyed such exquisite food anywhere else in the area. The last time we were here we learned that the long time owners were sadly selling up after 20 years! However we have just returned and while it is sad for them it is great for us as they are still here, happy returns! The food is as great as ever with good service as expected. I hope the owners are still in residence next year as they will be a very difficult act to follow.
I came to dinner too. Nice food, attentive and friendly staff. Free internet access only ask for password. Lived even if a Tuesday night in December. Not yet, but the prices on the menu seemed quite reasonable. Many parking spaces (via the street).
Been away from our favourite restaurant to long, superb impromptu lunch today and 3 courses of loveliness. Terrine, bouef, dessert, just superb . Great service and still one of our top ten.
