Whilst recently in Morpeth, My wife and I walked past a sign which read, ”Woodfire Pizza and Indian food”. We followed it and went through this beautiful, old stone-built Colonial style building into this Restaurant. We arrived about 11.40am, just in time for lunch. We were the first and only patrons there, so we sat in the middle of the establishment, in front of the wood-fire oven. We ordered our food and waited about 15 minutes. A terrible experience, waiting at the front for 10 minutes to be seated, hoping to get a seat outside. Another group came in front of us without a booking and asked for a seat and took the last table outside under cover. When we alerted the staff they did not care much, we eventually got a seat under cover because another lady let us know she was leaving, we then waited some time to have the table cleared so we cleared it ourselves. Then after ordering I asked specifically for two of my dishes to be gluten and dairy free. We waited quite a while for entrees and my husband did not get his drink to after 50 minutes later in which they charged us twice when we asked finally for the drink. When...
This review will save this restaurant as long as the owners read this and take it on board.Pizza and Indian food very different foods and should not be together on the same menu. Do one thing and do it well. It was a red flag for me and rightfully so. Read on.We ordered a pepperoni pizza. $17. It came out burnt. The base, however, was doughy, soft and disgusting. I could tell immediately it was bought in and cooked from frozen. The owner admitted this and we refused to eat the rest of the pizza. Family dinner, ordered from the Indain menu, starter came in good timing. the signage said that they closed at 9 o'clock, so at 8:45 o'clock, an hour after our appetizers, we asked for our others who arrived quickly. if they go and don't want them to smell as if they were a wood-fired pizza, maybe they decide to sit in the front dining rooms. if they have asked how their meals were at the time of the conclusion of their bill, they should be prepared for confrontation if they answer honestly.
The atmosphere is one of a kind. Personnel if very kind and friendly. Indian food is delicious. They could work a bit on pizza bases, the result is better than average as they have a very nice firewood oven which compensates. I’ll become a regular, hard to find places like this, keep working hard guys, see you next week at lunch
Highly recommend their Wood fired pizzas. One of the best pizza I tried in Maitland area. Restaurant ambiance is unique in historic building with open pizza cooking. You can literally see your pizza being cooked in firewood. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner
