I had not used this store in all honesty for a while, I normally pop into the Leighton Buzzard one which is not as big. As I was doing my shopping doing my best to social DISTANCE a member of staff came right up next to me and started banging the sink bowls around which were untidy. He did not appear too happy about this which is fair enough. But when on travelling around the store I came upon the reduced section, TRIED to get a look in here, only to find the SPACE being hogged by a rather shall we say Large lady, so not much SPACE for the rest of us to get a LOOK in . The food quality is always very good I've never had a problem with this, but the hygiene of the restaurant is less than adequate. Tables with splatters of previous diners food, left over cutlery napkins left on tables, filthy (and I mean really filthy) cutlery the cutlery looked like it had been sucked clean and stuck back into the stainless pots that hold the cutlery. And these pots are full of crumbs grime. Everything is dusty, filthy and unwashed. I have to make sure I alcohol gel my hands when about to start eating, and again when I'm in the car. The food was decent and the prices were reasonable, but the service was lacking. My wife requested the allergy menu for our sons with dairy allergies and was given a blank piece of paper. The staff seemed uninformed about allergen protocols, as the cook mentioned they would be using the same pan for dairy-free items. It took a while to resolve this issue, with my wife feeling like a burden. Additionally, when she asked to swap her chips for sweet potato chips, the staff seemed unsure of how to accommodate the request. Overall, the lack of proper training and customer service skills from the staff was disappointing.
Absolutely pathetic , asked for chocolate cake , staff member told me they didn’t have any , he took me where they should be , I found it and showed it to him. He didn’t tell me that there was a refrigerated section that does cakes too. Very unhelpful. Looked very uninterested. If he didn’t know he should have said and I would kept looking. Mumsy and I went in for a spot of the old foody food. Shock horror: no coffee! Mumsy had to go buy her own from the self service machine in the store. Chips weren't great, certainly not like the beautiful chips of such established Morrisons as Mayo Avenue (Bradford) or Halifax, but the staff were friendly. Keep trying, Aylesbury!
I was put off from visiting the cafe after seeing the condition of the carpark and surrounding area. The bushes and plants are overrun with garbage and debris, which is unacceptable. It definitely doesn't entice you to dine there.
Food is OK here however hygiene is not, they really need to keep up with cleaning the tables floors etc. Cutlery is always dirty! OK to just grab a quick meal.
