The restaurant location and ambience is nice an open air, authentic Japanese sushi house feel, and friendly service, but that’s where the ‘good’ ends. The food is lacking any level of quality. Tuna tartare was bad smelling mush with a few spring onions mixed in. Gyoza felt very old, with hard pastry. The sushi on the conveyor belt was woeful, with poor quality fish and little to no flavour, bar the spice that makes some pieces hot. I ordered a hand roll from the menu one piece at nearly £6 and it was possibly the worst piece of sushi I’ve ever eaten: plain brown crab meat and sushi rice with zero seasoning in a nori roll that fell apart when you picked it up. I've been to Moshimo many times but was really disappointed with the most recent visit (at 730 on a Saturday night) as things seen to have gone downhill rapidly. We like to sit at the conveyor belt as it gives you a lot of choice and the chance to sample a lot of different things. This time there was almost nothing on the conveyor belt and nothing was added in the hour we were there the couple next to us said it was the same for them. I only ever leave reviews when I feel strongly enough to do so. Having moved to Brighton from Hong Kong and spent a lot of time eating Japanese food in Japan I have been on the hunt for a good Japanese restaurant in Brighton- trusted the reviews and a blog I read on this restaurant- They are not accurate. The food here is terrible, the rice is completely over cooked leaving the Sushi damp and pappy to the taste. The Sushi is flavourless and loaded with mayonnaise and other condiments to hide how bad it is. If you are after value Sushi go to the super markets or Itsu/ Yo Sushi- They have a much higher turnover of covers giving you much fresher food than Mosimo where it is left to go around on...
Awful customer service. Their terms and conditions for booking a table are unclear and misleading, had a group dinner and multiple people had food spilt on them by staff, poor attention to diners, we were left waiting almost an hour for food. Then we had an extortionate service charge added to the bill which we had to prove we would like removed, and then finally when we received a surprise additional charge to our bank account a few days later and we called to ask what this was for, we were shouted at down the phone by a rude employee stating that this was a small family-business and that its tough and we should just cough up £50. Came here in a recommend and it was well worth it. Very attentive and friendly staff, who cannot do enough for you. Food is delicious and our only recommend is is you are not a fan of lot of sauce then ask for the sauce to be on the side some dishes had too much sauce, but were delicious all the same. We joined their club so save 50% on Mondays when dining.
Popped in here with the wife kids. Great inside/outside room(s). The design is super cool the kids loved the vibe. They have one of those to shushi conveyor thingys which the kids enjoy. We also ordered from the menu. Highlight for me was the salmon sashimi Lunch for 4 people with a tip £85 eat in style, eat here
Salads on the belt were lovely and just how I remember them haven’t been here for a while Tuna tartare really disappointed me very mushed up and not nice to eat at all Rolls on the belt good
Wow. Blown away with the vegan options. Shared 3 big dishes all were awesome! Wish this was in my town. Will definitely visit next trip to Brighton!

Always great food, service and value. The service makes it the best mainstream Japanese in Brighton and the Omakase boats are great
The food here was amazing. The fish was very fresh and better than I expected. The fruit juice of the day was also a must try.
