we are back in Saint-Hyacinthe this week on the business and we have in the restaurant m patate for a quick bite on a day during the trip between the places. this is a small roadside that has been there for a while. as the name says. her focus is on freshly cut french, but to be in quebec, put this French Canadian spin on her with poutine (natural) but that also make a quite serious smoked meat poutine. I had to try and it was really good. in addition, the staff was friendly and the service was good. I would not hesitate to come back to the restaurant m patate if the opportunity ever crossed my way; it is a great place for a snack.
I have nothing against fries from McDo or any other fast food restaurants... over the years, they became healthier (less oil and calories). Anyway, everybody knows that fries are not so good for your health, specially if you ate them too often. BUT WHEN YOU...WANT WONDERFUL HOME FRIES, you want the best which are greasy and taste sooooo good!!! Mr Patate is quite an institution in Varennes, since 1956!! Nothing but the BEST HOME FRIES!!! Nothing fancy but a great stop for a quick lunch on a scenic road (Marie-Victorin from Varennes to Vercheres or vice-versa)
The riders are amazing, we love them! The service is great - very fast and the restaurant is clean. We come here regularly for dinner to enjoy their tasty bites. The family size option is only $5.75 and it is huge - easily feeding a family of 5 with leftovers!
