I visited this restaurant for dinner and it was my first time at this location. The decor is appealing, and the bar area looks great. One of the reasons I love this restaurant is the molcajete, and I ordered the Ranchero II, which was quite generous in portion. My only complaint is that the food was lukewarm, but the flavors were spot on. The chorizo was excellent, and the rice and beans were delightful. The homemade tortillas and warm salsa added to another enjoyable experience! My husband ordered the chile rellenos with shredded chicken. The service was attentive and professional. We will definitely return.
We went to this restaurant today. We've been there before when it first opened, and it's good. But today is a very different case. I told the waiter that our food was lacking in taste, I was bland. Then later a member of mgmt walked by asked if things were ok. I told him we were very dissatisfied with the food, we tried to eat some of it with salt n pepper, but it didn't wasn't enough to help the situation. Needless to say we paid for the food. We weren't given a discount at least, or even an apology would've helped! Not going there again!
Just came in for a double shot of well tequila. $18 for a splash. They didn't even know what I was saying. Second time I felt like a paid for gold and got copper. If you want to go to Mr sombrero go to the league City location. Alvin location isn't even in the same ballpark. Definitely won't be back. Or at least Alvin's..... I would give this place five stars! I can't believe it's so close to home and I didn't know about it. I loved everything except the coffee, which was quite disappointing. However, the food and service were excellent. I highly recommend stopping by. I usually visit the one in League City, which is nice too, but the food there is a bit bland in comparison. The food was exceptional, and the service was top-notch. The atmosphere was inviting, making it a great spot for lunch.
The host had an odd demeanor when seating us, but the waitstaff was excellent. I tried the queso blanco with fajita, which was decent. Since it's Tex-Mex, you can't really expect an entirely authentic Mexican dish. Overall, it was a good experience, and I'd be willing to return to try it again at least once.
Other than being stuck in the corner with no windows or tv entertainment on the walls it was a good place. Usually good, not busy. Sause was 1 star. Rice and beans not up to par. Fajitas was not bad. Don't know if it was a bad day. May not go back.
