I visited today with work friends and had sandwiches and scones for afters. I also had a milkshake which was supposed to be mango but you wouldn’t know if you hadn’t ordered it it looked the part but tasted disappointing. Scones were the best part (although jam was very cheap tasting) and I’d possibly come back for these. My sandwich at £3.50 was pretty disappointing. A toasted sandwich should have at least some sort of garnish but instead it was a slice of bacon, some chicken and cheese sandwiched between two slices of toasted shop bought bread and cut in half. Had a birthday get together with the girls when the offer buy one get one free offer was on, would have refused to pay full price. The homemade chips colsaw were lovely but the sandwiches were dry and tasteless. Makes all the difference if you use decent bread and would have nice to have a choice of fillings! The cakes were nothing special I'm afraid, I had coffee but could hardly taste it. Service was ok but the place looks like it could do with a good clean and the carpet leading to the upstairs toilet was disgustingly black where people have walked up. The toilets are also in desperate need of modernising, makes me wonder how what the kitchen looks like. I would not recommend...
Went here with my old school friend We have been here before and it was lovely . This visit was not lovely Food gone massively down hill all staff have changed and Where have the lovely cakes gone ?the cakes on offer were small and to be honest an absolute mess and didn’t taste much better either I could of baked better myself and I don’t bake We were speaking to another lady customer who told us it has really diminished and suspects it won’t stay open much longer. Real shame as it used to be lovely and very busy from what I remember Lost its sparkle
We often drop in here as a nice place to meet up in Ashby, and, it had dropped off a bit towards the end of the Summer. However, it's now under new ownership, and is on the up again! Lovely food, very friendly staff, fresh cakes and a mint cheesecake to die for : After chatting to the new owner, they have plans to upgrade and refresh things as time money allow, so things can only get better better. All the food is home made, fresh and tasty, and they are open to suggestions. If you haven't been in a while, give them another try. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
I didn't visit this restaurant last December, but I did go in during a December. It was my mum's birthday and she was in her early 90s. Throughout our meal, we had to keep our coats on because it was so cold. When I asked if they could turn up the heating, I was told it was already on. We couldn't leave fast enough. As we were heading out, I noticed a heater near the front window with only 1 out of 3 parts lit. This place might be more enjoyable in warmer weather.
I brought my elderly father for a special treat of coffee and cake. We were the only customers in the restaurant, and remained the only customers when we left. My dad enjoyed the music, but that was the only positive aspect. The coffee was weak and tasted like hot water, and the cake was bland and dry. We will not be going back. The dark and dreary decor did not create a cozy tearoom atmosphere at all.
A trip to Mrs M's proved disappointing today. The chips I had were dry. My daughters ordered a chip butty on doorstep bread. When it arrived it wasn't as advertised.The chips didnt look or taste great and the bread was a cheap bread roll. We did go there as prevously the chips had been soft and delicious. Unfortunately it wasnt worth the money
I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant with a wide selection of food during afternoon tea. I decided to come back for brunch and once again, I was not disappointed. The staff were very friendly and provided excellent service. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
You can never go wrong at Mrs m’s the food is fresh and home made and you get a decent sized plate. I love the decoration and music and the staff are lovely I can’t wait to try a giant eclair !
