The experience at Upstairs Muffin Break was absolutely shocking. I ordered over $50 worth of food, and they attempted to serve me frozen sausage and spinach feta rolls. After I left, I realized several issues: 1) a tomato feta tart that I ordered was missing from my bags; 2) they gave me a cheesecake slice instead of the mud cake I had ordered; 3) I received tomato sauce instead of barbecue sauce; and 4) the sausage rolls were frozen and uncut. I could have understood these mistakes if the cafe had been busy, but it was just me and one other customer at 9:30 AM. I recently tried the carrot cake and butterscotch muffin, and unfortunately, both were quite dry and powdery. The carrot cake felt more like just dry powder than a proper cake. I always request my tea without milk for my dad, but they consistently add milk anyway. The service has also been lacking in politeness; today, when I paid in cash, the staff snatched the money from me and casually tossed my change onto the counter.
I was served today by a young woman with red and black hair; her name might have been Ebony or possibly Emma. She provided absolutely outstanding customer service. I was recently diagnosed with both gluten and lactose intolerance, and she helped me navigate the menu at Muffin Break, explaining what I could and couldn’t eat. I will definitely be returning with friends!
I always love the muffins from Muffin Break. Recently, I also tried their coffee and was pleasantly surprised. Though I'm not a big coffee drinker, the latte I had was delicious—just the right temperature and not too strong. I really enjoyed it. The prices are reasonable, and the customer service was great. I Have worked here at Canelands Mackay right next to Muffinin Break downstairs. I buy my coffee there every day that I am in,sometimes twice. It's not just the coffee that brings me back, it's the great service and friendly manner of the staff there. They are always happy to see me ..love it
I visit Muffin Break every day before work for my caffeine fix. The service is exceptional, and the staff remember my order perfectly. I've never had a bad cup of coffee there; I truly love the taste of Muffin Break coffee. Highly recommended! (posted by Herbert Colls)
