As a 1st timer to this side of Oz, wanted to dine with ocean views so this matched my brief! Lovely fit out of the resturant area with a vast array of dining nooks and crannies both inside and out. Paper menus and the typical pub style ordering [order & pay at counter and meal delivered to your table].Reasonable range of meal options from burgers to pizza, squid to garlic prawns, pasta etc. salad choices limited [caesar salad or a side salad]. Despite hearing a few bad reviews about the restaurant at the Mullaloo Beach Hotel, it is in such a beautiful location I decided to give it a try for breakfast on my birthday. I called a few weeks prior to book a table and was advised that they don't usually take bookings but because there would be 15 of us they would take the booking so the waitstaff would be prepared on the day. I called again the day before the booking to confirm numbers and everything was fine. The day got off to a bad start when we arrived and was told that there was no booking and they don't take bookings. After hearing that the M Beach Hotel was under new management, we were excited to give it another go. We went for the Wednesday night Ladies special menu. First of all, nobody came to take our drink order for 45 min. We had to go inside and call a waitress. When the drinks finally arrived, we had been there for over an hour without service. I ordered the warm Caesar salad with poached egg (which was cold), there was literally no bacon in there and 3 tiny anchovies. This was so disappointing to say the least. If you want to go out for a nice sit down meal, this probably isn't the place. I used to come here a few years ago when they had an excellent menu with good seafood options, you could get crayfish or scallops and it was a great dining experience. However, they have evidently changed their target to a more down market affair. There is no table service anymore, instead of a sleek interior it is now more "beachside shabby chic" and the menu is just basic pub grub. If you don't want anything oily or deep fried, you are out of luck. There is nothing on the menu that is light and fresh. What a disappointment. Ordered the Black Angus T-Bone at $43It was slapped on the plate underneath the worst presented chips I have ever seenThe T- Bone was riddled with fat. Only at it because I was hungry The meal is something I would expect from a Cheap Tuesday Pub grubWe were on table 62 and the customer on the table next to us returned her T-Bone as inedible. Breakfast was ordinary and expensive for what we had. Eggs and small bits of Turkish bread. Eggs listed on the menu as "hen eggs". Not sure what other eggs there are. Coffee was horrible and burnt. The place should have been busy on a gorgeous Sunday morning but only 6 people in there. Service was good. Staff were in gym pants And runners

We went tonight for my birthday and the food and service was great. It has greatly improved since we last came last year. We had the lunch/dinner specials,beef burger,fish and chips and the mushroom linguine and the barramundi off the normal menu and they were all delicious. We will be back.
