Our family and I had a wonderful dining experience at Muto Izakaya, and here’s why it was an amazing experience: Food: • The ramen was spot-on! The noodles were al dente, just like you’d find in Japan. Absolutely perfect! • Sushi was incredible, too—so fresh it literally melted in my mouth. You can tell they use top-notch ingredients. The udon bowl was a safety hazard. The burning hot iron bowl was served without any notice. You never expect a udon to be in a hot iron bowl. My thumb was burnt after a slight touch of its rim. Should not order any udon for your children for this reason. Very disappointed by the service. Also, I ordered a tofu avocado salad, and no avocado was there initially till I asked for it. The food itself was good for the price. Our oyako bowl had a big portion. The grilled squid was a bit dry but had a lot of watery sauce on the plate. What a hidden gem! Started with hot saki, Agadashi tofu, and Hamachi nigiri (not pictured), then followed up with 3 rolls, The Firehouse, Medusa, and Godzilla. Quite possibly one of the best sushi joints we have experienced. This includes Sushi Kappo in Eastlake, Takai by Kashiba in Bellevue and Sankai in Edmonds. The difference is price, where the total of our meal was under 80$!!!! Granted, this is a small spot, but is clean, comfortable and the service was amazing! I will most definitely be back. What a great spot to save a few bucks but still have quality found service. I am not a paid advertiser, just a guy sharing a great location!
Very good salmon and salmon roe in the Poki bowl. Salmon was fatty and was fresh. Portion size was ok, but could have been better. Sushi rolls were overall small and not super worth. I followed a recommendation to try the authentic Japanese food at Muto in Lynnwood, and I fell in love my first visit. The sushi, tempura, and ramen are delicious. We overheard the staff speaking in Japanese, which is reassuring. The service is impressive. The menu is extensive. I'll definitely dine here again soon.
My favorite ramen place in Bellingham before covid lead to their closing, and still my favorite ramen in the area now. Very nice staff, never had an issue at Muto and all the ramen is always fantastic. The sashimi is good as well, though the bone broth ramen is the highlight.
Highly recommend their fried chicken curry and sashimi. The curry sauce is great and the fried chicken is very crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside. Sashimi is fresh.
