Our first experience with Ethiopian cuisine was an interesting one. We decided to try the restaurant's most popular dish, which featured cubed lamb shank accompanied by vegetables and lentils, and we kicked things off with some sambosas as an appetizer. We really enjoyed the sambosas; they were definitely the highlight of the meal for us. However, the lamb was a bit chewy and dry, lacking a bit of spice. On the other hand, the lentils were packed with flavor, and we found them quite enjoyable. The service was a bit slow, especially considering the restaurant wasn’t very busy at the time. We noticed a vegetarian section on the menu, and we might explore those options if we decide to return.

Abel, the owner, along with the rest of the staff, are locals in San Diego, yet they possess a deep knowledge that ensures a true Abyssinian experience.
Wow, absolutely blown away by our dinner at Muzita Abyssinian. A friend referred my girlfriend and I to this place and we were not prepared to have one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in San Diego. The food and flavors were mouthwatering, and the service was top notch without an ounce of pretension. Highly recommend and we can’t wait to come back. Abel is the man!

Great opportunity to try Ethiopian food. Make sure to ask if you don't know what items in the menu are. I understand the tradition to eat with hands, but injera was not strong enough it was a bit doey not sour tasting at all. Beef was way too spicy. The sambusas and lentils were great. Great first experience.
My first time eating Ethiopian food, and the servers were super welcoming and attentive! I ordered the mushroom appetizer and Shiro Hamli, both were delicious. Fun experience trying new cuisine and I love injera now!
This place never fails to satisfy. The vegetarian menu items are better than the meat, but everything's delicious. It's best to bring a party of four six because the plates are best shared.
