Food was okay, but when I checking out. Older man used his POS machine for my credit card transaction. It was weird cause I could not see the option to tip, I assumed I could choose the amount afterwards or I’ll just tip in cash. So it’s fine either way. Was given the machine and then I simply tapped. Came out with a receipt saying pre-authorized charge. Thought this was weird, showed it to him and he just said oh you did it wrong. I tried to explain all I did was tap and he most likely tapped the pre-authorize button on the POS machine that business use for take out or order ahead circumstances. An older Vietnamese man, who I believe is the owner, was extremely rude and blamed me for his error with the POS machine when trying to accept my credit card.He was shown the receipt that proved he did a pre-authorized payment instead of a proper charge, and denied all responsibility for this, instead claiming a customer somehow changed this just by tapping their card.I tried explaining this to him, and he just said he wouldn't do anything with the preauthorized charge and said I should call my credit card company since it's my fault.If he's this bad at customer service, accepting responsibility, and this incompetent at using something as simple as a credit card machine, what else is he bad...
My wife and I always come to this spot and it’s one of the best in the city. The atmosphere gives it an authentic feel and the service is hands down the best I’ve experienced. Personalized and welcoming. The food is spectacular as we always get the banh mi sandwiches (pork belly) and the special wings. The beef vermicelli is fantastic as well! Very delicious food and nice atmosphere, service here was good for the most part, however the frog legs and bahn mi we’re all sold out by the time I went so it was a bit disappointing, however the rest of the items we preferred more than made up for it.
Easily Nam has become my top 10 in Richmond Hill. The service and atmosphere is great very community like. The wings are crispy and extremely flavourful. The Banh Mi Sandwich is fresh! The dishes from pho, vermicelli and braised ribs are high quality.
I used to think they are the best in town but after having their beef pho today, I must say there are much more nicer spots than Nam nowadays. Their broth is so bland and noodles are overcooked. I think they have changed their recipe.
