I was looking to have something to eat whilst looking around Leeds about 9pm, when I unmistakenly got the whiff of a chip shop. Having visited Leeds quite a few times and stayed in Vicar Lane Travelodge a number of times, was unaware of a nearby fish shop. The smell led me to Nash,s. No customers in, so ordered fish, chips, curry sauce and cup of coffee.Bit of a wait, but presumed it was the cooking of my order of fish. Sat at a table and a tv with country music videos was playing on the wall. Supper came on crockery plate, with metal cutlery and a mug of coffee with seperate jug of milk and the curry sauce came in a seperate dish too. Shocking. Booked a table for a pre theatre meal last night 4th December 2019. Arrived at what our party leader said was ? used to be, the main entrance, it is now an Indian. We went around the other side of the building to the takeaway entrance, there were a handful of grubby tables to sit and eat your takeaway fish and chips, not what we expected when we had booked a table. How can an establishment take a phone call to make a table booking for a meal, and forget to mention that the actual restaurant is no longer in business, and that they only do take away food with a few tables to sit at if required. Ridiculous and made the start of what should have been a nice evening at the theatre, some...
It does look like it has changed hands : worse than that the foods completely different batter and all. Had the cod loin : not like I’d had it on previous visits i.e not a thick white loin instead a scraggy fish with tail didn’t even look like cod loin? . I won’t be going back, gone are the good old days of a traditional f c replaced with a budget affair that is completely different!
decent place to try some authentic-ish fish and chips. I had heard a lot about the place, so it went there with very high expectations. the food was okay, the portions were large and I liked to inherit the muddy ones I got as a side, and the person who worked there was friendly and helpful.

I went with 2 friends in nash's famous fish and chip restaurant right in front of new briggate. we all thought the slightly broken fish and the right potato chips and muddy heaps were excellent. not quite fat, just delicious. the service of a gentleman was friendly. we're coming back.
Went last night, got sausage and chips, friendly staff, great prices, only thing wrong with this place is until last night, I didn't know it existed, it's hidden away behind the pizza shop opposite Rajas. Very nice food, highly recommended.
beautiful large place, stabbed down, eating was banging, had standard fish and chips, worth for money, and service was excellent, rotated telly about for me while I ate, £5.50 for a perfect meal, quality, highly recommended
Tea time treat , fish freshly cooked to order, seating area clean and tidy, staff very hospitable, would visit again
