I've lived in the area for so long and never knew about this place. I came to this place bc I wanted to get close to bakery w/the best French macaron in the area. Not that the other I go is far (Webster Groves), but my daughter loves her and if we want a little sweetness in our day, why not make a quick run nearby. So I found this bakery! It's sweet, the staff is the best, small and always busy! The parking lot is not so big and it is in busy Manchester Rd, so it is sometimes a pain, but completely with it! This was my first time to visit this establishment, but it will definitely not be my last!!! This place is like a Willy Wonka by Bakeries, soooo many articles to choose. This is now my new place to go for Choc Chip Cookies. The Chicken Salad Sandwich is excellent!! The Croissant was hugely super tender. U can say that they fold tons of butter several times. Customer service was pleasantly very helpful to answer questions I had about each of their numerous articles. Simple sandwiches and complex desserts. Waldorf chicken salad was almost as good as home made, 3 out of 5. The Turkey was outstanding, a 5 out of 5 turkey sandwich. The pulled pork was a 4 out of 5 good but I would've liked it heated. The raspberry/chocolate mirror cake was decadent 5 out of 5. Tried 6 of the macaroons, poppy was the best BUT I was not impressed by them at all. 2 out of 5. My latte wasn't executed well despite the very expensive espresso machine. Over all the shop was simple and cute but the service was rude.
Try Nathaniel Reid! Even all my friends who are not big on sweets love it ; Super fair price for top notch pastry. Really like the pick up option. The pre-order system could be improved though. Hope to see a way to pay online instead of getting a call back to supply the payment info. The #1 place I miss when I leave home for college. This bakery has amazing croissants, cakes, sandwiches, and so much more! This bakery not only ranks high in the US, but arguably in the world! When I had my first bite of a NR croissant after coming back from France, I felt as though I was transported back to Paris! Needless to say, you have to try this place out (you won?t regret it)!
Update: So happy to be back post pandemic! ?? Roast beef sandwich was amazing. Original: Every single bite was heavenly. I cannot wait to go back and try a sandwich. I had the Chocolate chip pecan cookie, cheese Focaccia bread, an Amber (tart) and the Ruby. Like a party in my mouth. Friendly staff. The place is bright and welcoming. Highly recommend stopping by!
Has anyone recommended this bakery in Manchester and I know why! It looked so good, we had to rehearse before we had the time to make pictures. Seriously, everything's so good! So many things we wanted to try. Make plans to go back and the bread pudding. Lunch also had sandwiches that looked fantastic!
I'm not sure how to be original in describing this bakery, but all I can say is that I had a wonderful afternoon there with my friend. Absolutely fantastic! They received an award for the best pastries in the USA. I highly recommend it for all ages. While some desserts might be a bit challenging for younger children, there are plenty of options they'll enjoy. The staff is incredibly friendly as well.
