Pulled up to National coney island for some lunch and it was surprisingly very good. I know everyone has there favorite coney island spot for breakfast or lunch and mine is usually kerbys on 10 mile and northwestern. However it recently closed due to a fire. So I decided to give national a try. National Corey island are known for there pita sandwhiches called Hanis which is similar to a gyro but I think the bread is just a little different. I decided However to try there twisted BLT which is a BLT with turkey. This was a great choice. I odered online and it was ready when I picked it up. New to the area, went in and ordered a Grilled Chicken Salad, the girl who waited on me acted like I was bothering her. Very unfriendly and rude. I was sitting at a table waiting for my order and instead of handing it to me she rudely slid it on the table. When I said Thank you she did not acknowledge it and just turned and walked away. I was a waitress for 8+ years and I never treated any of my customers that way. She should be ashamed of herself. Waitress with short dark hair. I went to National Coney. When my order was brought to me, I was handed a Coke. I ordered Sprite. I was told ?oh well that?s what is on your ticket?. I was then asked if I wanted to give her a tip AFTER that response. Maybe if you had fixed my order, like I asked. Then the credit card machine didn?t work. And once I got home I had a dry gyro sandwich with no sauce and I had less than 1/2 a box of fries. Maybe if you are going to be stingy with fries, have different size boxes like McDonald?s!
It was ok nothing special. The weird part was you stand and order at a counter top and pay before you sit down. Then they bring you the food. The food was not the greatest. The burger was a little dry. Not impressed at all. I think it seems like it is set up for take out mostly. I hot a burger onion rings a cup of chili my husband got a Hani and cheese sticks. 6:30pm on a holiday weekend. No ice cream available for shakes. The coney dogs were good. We had to stand at the counter to order to eat in. The menu on the wall is hard to read and rushed our order. We would have gotten more, but it was not a relaxed atmosphere. I may come back, but I'll eat elsewhere first.
FOOD WAS NASTY and MADE WRONG. Tossed it out. Tommy was very rude and dismissive, stated he heard the cook talking about it but he don’t have anything to do with that. Umm you work there right? Lol how about offering to correct the mistake.
It was good. The staff was very friendly and the food came out quickly after the order. The prices were very reasonable. I feel like the Koneys could use a little more chili. Great place, but not my favorite Consey Island.
Absolutely love National, and this is my favorite location. They do a great job at the Southfield coney and the food and service is always fantastic! Still hoping to catch Mr. Pop there one of these days haha ?? Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
One of my favorite Coney Islands in the area. Breakfast is consistently very good. Coney's and hani sandwiches are great. Service is always great as well.
