This family-run restaurant serves decent food, but the service is disappointing. The older woman is quite rude both on the phone and in person. They’re surprisingly stingy with extra sauces and utensils; for a $50 order for five people, they only gave us four sauces and three pairs of chopsticks! When I asked for more in the restaurant, she refused and was quite unpleasant. On top of that, when I requested extra sauce, the man took it out of the bag and slammed it on the table. I’ve been a customer for six years, but this experience has made me decide not to return. There are better options nearby, especially at the corner of Riged Road and Valley Brook!
Absolutely terrible! I can't emphasize enough how bad this place is—don't spend your money here. The chicken was undercooked, the broccoli was past its prime, and the shrimp egg roll was extremely soggy! I really don't understand how this restaurant gets any good reviews; I should have trusted my instincts instead of ordering this old, flavorless meal. They didn't even provide utensils or napkins; my food was just dumped into a bag, completely soaked in sauce. It was a total waste of money, and I ended up throwing it all away. Please save your hard-earned cash—it's just not worth it. I'm extremely disappointed and definitely won't be coming back.

My boyfriend and I are regulars at New Great Wall Chinese. Maybe it's because we stick to simple dishes, but our orders always turn out fantastic. I usually go for the Chicken or Shrimp Broccoli with light sauce, paired with shrimp fried rice or white rice. My boyfriend orders the same, and we both appreciate that the combo comes with an egg roll. However, I wasn’t a fan of the fried chicken wings—they had a strange texture and smell, so I ended up throwing them away. Despite that, we love the menu overall and plan to keep coming back, usually every two weeks!
The food is great, but the customer service is terrible. I order from this restaurant every week, whether in person or over the phone. However, the older woman at the front and on the phone is incredibly rude. In my latest experience, I asked her to repeat my order, and she flatly refused, just giving me the total instead before hanging up. I called back three times to no avail, and when I finally got through, I had to ask if I could pay with my card over the phone. While I was providing my card number, she abruptly told me to hurry up.

I don’t understand the hype. I visited New Great Wall Chinese tonight and ordered chicken lo mein and chicken fried rice. The lo mein was okay, but it contained mushrooms, which I wasn’t expecting. The fried rice was just plain rice with onions, peas, and chicken—completely lacking in flavor. The service was slow, and the prices were steep. I’m glad I tried it, but I won’t be returning.

I ate here 4 times over 2 1/2 weeks recently while staying with friends that live close-by. The food has always been cooked fresh to order, the staff is friendly (especially once they started to recognize me), and my absolute favorite thing on the menu are the fried dumplings- seriously- the best I've ever had. I also had the sesame chicken twice and it was awesome, too.
The food is outstanding and consistently fresh. I've been ordering from them for over 15 years.
