I had fish and chips with a twist, and it was a delightful experience. The staff were incredibly polite, and the food was fantastic. The portion sizes were generous and quite filling. I was particularly impressed with how well the food was cooked—it was perfectly crispy without being overly greasy. To accompany my meal, I enjoyed a refreshing drink of lion’s tooth and burdock, which was excellent. Parking was a breeze; there was always space on the main street, just a short walk from the restaurant. They also have a small dining area for those who prefer to eat in. Overall, a wonderful place to enjoy a meal!
Coming from Bournemouth, where they seem to lack the proper way to prepare fish and chips, I was pleasantly surprised by this meal. The batter was light and crispy, without being greasy or soggy. The squid was thick and generous, and the chips were excellent. The prices were reasonable, especially when compared to those on the south coast. I haven't enjoyed fish and chips this much in years. It's clear they take pride in their offerings!
Nice fish and chip shop, ideally located on the moor, good menu to choose from, plenty of seating in and out, would have given 5 stars but prices just a tad heavy compared to other chip shops locally like king cross fisheries (not mother Hubbard's which is awful), would recommend this place still.

We decided, being in the area, that we would dine in with fish and chips. This was a good decision, the quality was very good and we were welcomed by friendly staff, who served us with a lovely lunch. Their excellent reputation is well deserved.
