After reading reviews for a Chinese takeout, we were unfortunately let down by our experience. The shop looked old and worn when we arrived to pick up our order, with outdated newspaper posters of the queen. Although the girl who took our order was pleasant, we were told it would be ready in 45 minutes but ended up waiting an additional 30 minutes upon arrival. The food itself was not up to par – my special chow mein had a strange smell, stuck together, and the meat was dry and tough. The barbecue spare ribs lacked sauce and had an unpleasant smell. We've been a few times and Lucky House cooks wonderful chinese food which tastes really fresh and nicely flavoured. Not overly salty or MSG infused like some other restaraunts and I really appreciate their huge veggie options menu. The owner is very sweet and always gives us some extra tasters to try. The veggie duck in rainbow sauce is especially DIVINE. Friendly service, great prices, quick service it is our favourite Chinese restaurant in Leicester and we wouldn't go anywhere else (and their kids are super cute as well).
We collected our first take-away today and it won't be our last. The vegetables were finely cut, not great chunks as we've had from other places. The Singapore chow mein was super and not at all greasy. The extended menu gives a fantastic choice offering dishes such as seabass in rainbow sauce, xo beef, Korean chicken to name a few. I was offered a sample of one to try as the dishes were new to me. Wow, it's going to take several visits to try them all....can't wait!
Great service by the staff, absolutely made my day, I went in to collect my order and I was met by a welcoming greeting from the staff and my food was ready earlier than stated which is great, the staff asked me to taste a new dish which was delicious, and they made me feel welcome in their shop, they made a normal trip to pick up food, special, brilliant place, beautiful food and I recommend this place for others to go to Written by Calvin

This takeout restaurant is definitely the best option in the area. Ignore the negative, uninformed reviews because the food here is outstanding! Anyone who criticizes it just doesn't appreciate true quality. The service is fantastic and they are always working to improve and expand their menu. If you want high-quality food, you can't go wrong with this takeout restaurant.
The restaurant offers delicious food, with friendly and efficient service. The portions are very generous and they are always introducing new and creative items to the menu. I am satisfied with the quality of the food. Thank you.
This is the best Chinese food I've ever had. The prices are great for the quality, the service is friendly, and their specialties are amazing. I will definitely be coming back here every time.
I have been coming to New Lucky House for over 20 years! It is an incredible family-owned restaurant with friendly staff and delicious food!
