I had been up to Niederbauen a few times, but never spent the night. Changed that during a Switzerland trip with friends from HK and stayed the last night before our departure. I love this place as it is way less touristy than other mountains...around Lake Lucerne and provides some of the best views and an authentic Swiss experience. The cable car holds 8 people so comfortable ride up for the 6 of us. We had rooms on the 1st floor with shared bathrooms. The bathrooms are spotless and have everything you need, from hair dryer to plenty of towels, so no issues. Rooms are super cute with amazing views over the lake. Recently our friends have had a wedding celebration at this place, they had to reserve the date one year before! You can imagine it is a quite popular place to have such an event). We went up by cable car, this place has less tourists...although it was not far away for Lucerne by car half a hour). On the top, it really has a fantastic view!! You would see the lake around by the mountains, a very Swiss scenery, we just love it. The food in the restaurant was excellent, service staff were very friendly. Vom Berg Niederbauen aus hat man meiner Meinung nach die schönste Aussicht auf den Vierwaldstättersee und zahlt für den Aufstieg auch viel weniger als auf die Rigi oder den Pilatus (die ohnehin von Touristen überlaufen sind). Außerdem kann man hier oben richtig gut essen. ..Das Restaurant wird von einem sehr freundlichen Paar geführt, das großartiges Essen und guten Service bietet. Ich kann das traditionelle Schweizer Gericht namens Älplermagronen, das hier serviert wird, wärmstens empfehlen, es ist bei weitem das Beste, das ich je gegessen habe. Wir hatten das Degustationsmenü zum Mittagessen. Der Ausblick auf den Vierwaldstättersee könnte nicht besser sein. Der Service war freundlich und das Essen einfach großartig! Die geräucherte Forelle auf einem Salat schmeckte frisch und leicht, die Bergheusuppe war sehr interessant, das Filet mit Kartoffelpüree als Hauptgericht hatte eine gute Größe und war superweich. Der Nachtisch war ein gefrorener Joghurt mit Keksen auf einer Eisenkrautgelee. Das Vier-Gänge-Menü kostet 65 CHF. Auch die Weinauswahl ist gut. Das ist eine versteckte Perle! the most friendly owner and chef of the small hotels and restaurants welcomed us when we arrived after our hike to spend night and night. on the terrace we saw the sun over the mountains that the heavens beautiful in different. form orange and red painted. the candlelight dinner with magnificent view through huge windows on sea lucerne and the mountain acquired us while enjoying the deliciously cooked five courses. the wine pairing was a perfect fit. we will definitely come back!
This place has an outstanding view and is a wonderful place to get away from the maddening tourist crowds. The Berghaus has charm and the service was great. The food was nicely presented and they had a good selection of wine. Really relaxing place to...have a meal and just while away some pleasant hours soaking up those stunning views. Would like to return sometime to spend the night there. Would also like to come up here sometime in winter.
view into the mountains, at the lake and far into the Swiss middlelands, at a clear day you could see up to the German black forest. the service is very attentive and eating a constant good quality and very tasty. for so far away it has a beautiful wine selection. if they sit in the evening for a long time, they will use the cable car only for them to get back down.
