Went to Nikos yesterday with a friend on a recommendation from a couple in my condo building. Costa, the proprietor operates and unassuming restaurant in the heart of Little Italy with a clear focus on quality, lovingly prepared Greek food and warm, friendly attentive service. I had a side Greek salad, which was fresh and plentiful followed by a traditional Gyros (one of the best I've ever enjoyed) that was bursting with mouthwatering gyros meat, authentic tzatziki, fries and all the fixings. Very disappointed! Hadn't been for yrs had good memories of Greek food. Gyros did not taste good; sauce had a weird taste (Can't put my finger on what made it taste that way? Never had a tzatziki that tasted in any way similar! Veg was limp almost tasted as if it had been sautéed. This blew my mind ....... pita was raw/uncooked in the middle so sauce soaked-in it was a soggy mess that I could not hold in my hand! Fries were good with a very decent portion. Not calling manager as I don't want to order ever again, so a credit or replacement meal is of no use.
The food was incredible—I couldn't resist writing this review before finishing my meal! It's truly outstanding! Keira greeted us with a warm smile and provided three fantastic recommendations. Even the salad was delicious. I'm at a loss for words to describe the quality of both the food and the service at this restaurant. I've tried similar cuisine around the world, but this has been the best I've ever had. As for the vegetarian options, I had the vegetarian sub, gyro, and salad, and each one was simply amazing!
I've visited Nikos twice now, and I can confidently say that their gyros are the best I've had in Winnipeg. The lamb and beef are incredibly flavorful, the vegetables are fresh, and the sauces are excellent. Our group also really enjoyed the lemon soup. It's clear that they take pride in both their food and their restaurant. The service was excellent, and serving the beer in chilled glasses is a nice touch. We will definitely be returning!

We ordered avgolemono soup through Skip the Dishes, and it was unbearably salty—tasted like a whole container of salt was dumped into it. When we called to express our concerns, they claimed that our taste was off because other customers didn't find it salty. What kind of customer service is that? Additionally, the soup was mustard yellow instead of the expected white, and the chicken in it was orange. We will never order from them again.
This is a hidden gem with unreal, authentic Greek food and wicked drink specials! Under new ownership and it shows. Always leave happy with left overs and ya girl loves left overs. Big portions and food made with love by outstanding kitchen staff.
It's my fave Greek in the city but the last 2 times I have ordered it has been incorrect and they haven't offered to correct it. The food is really good but I have to check and recheck my order in future before I head home.
The new management is doing an excellent job at keeping the great food and upping the service level! I had given the old Nikos a lower score, but the place deserves a revisit.

Had a pick up order from here. It was really delicious. Parking was easy to find when I was there. Decent amount of portion and Great food and great service!!
