Niko's Bistro - Tisch reservieren

I have placed many online reviews on various pages for years. I'd call myself a real eater, more familiar. my reviews are more critical than john gilcrist, a retired calgqry restaurant reviewer that I admire deeply. each restaurant has dishes that some love and other people don't like it. I will share my 10/10 meal at niko’s. it begins with sparkling water, followed by half a liter Australian shiraz wein. the appetizer is calamari all’inferno. that is the best calamari they will cost everywhere. it is lightly spicy, so be sure to press the lemon over it. the main course is spaghettini aglio e olio with Italian sausage and freshly ground pfeffer to its taste. Oh, my God! the taste will explod...

I ordered the veal marsala. what I got was a sticky, sweet, thick disgusting sauce above the half of my teller. it was not marsala sauce. I had marsala sauce in various restaurants running the years, including in itals, and that was a damn scandal. when they order it, they ask for the sauce on the side. it was so sweet and thick, it belonged to a banan gap. a real Marsala sauce is thin with only one hauch of body, there to increase the calves, not disguise, and I didn't need 1/2 c. of it. I had to dry the sauce from my calfse to my pasta or scratch with my knife, even then it was too sweet. absolutely revolting. on the other side, the spade and the carrots were made nice. no warning of pasta...

it just enjoyed a great meal in this cozy little bistro. we shared calamari as an appetizer and had no intention to finish it, but it was too delicious. slightly baked and very delicate calamari in a delicious spicy tomato sauce. we had the spaghetti carbonara and...spaghetti fruiti di mare for our main course, both delicious and very generous portions. even though we were full, we shared the tiramisu. very light, not too sweet, a perfect end to a great meal. also the service was excellent. highly recommended!

Wonderful food. Acceptable wine list, 2 1/2 times retail. Owner very personable, waiter more than acceptable. Veal was excellent

veal tasted more like thin cut bark meat. sauce was easy. service staff was in order, but I will not go back.
