You definitely won't leave the North Mackay Bowls Club hungry after dining there, as the serving sizes are very generous. My family of four had a great time enjoying our meals, with my red curry chicken being particularly delicious and flavorful. The dining room was spacious but noisy, especially with young children around, so it's not ideal for a quiet evening out. The counter service was a bit slow but friendly and efficient. Overall, it seemed like a popular choice for a weekend dinner.
Lady at reception was pleasant, engaging and welcoming. We had four full meals and drinks for under $100 and all walked out full as a bull. Food is very nice, staff exceptional. Our youngest likes to go to the House of Schnitzel at the Mt Pleasant Tavern but it is very often booked out and we wind up at the North Mackay Bowls Club, particularly on the weekend. Food is quite comparable, maybe a little cheaper at the Bowls club depending on what you order.
The roast of the day was beef but it was less than ordinary. No whole roast sliced on the premises here. The beef was the type of ultra thin factory produced slices you buy in the supermarket, with factory produced gravy to match. The price is what you would expect to pay for real roast beef, not this lazy cheapskate alternative. At least the roast vegies were good.
Went here on a Wednesday night and turns out it's kids eat free!! Win! Was pretty packed, so definitely need to book for this night. We ordered straight away, kids went to play in the playground, Mum Dad got to have a beer wine in peace. Food was out in reasonable time my Vietnamese Salad was amazing. We had dinner at the Club. The next day I found that I had mislaid my wallet. We went back to the Club on Friday morning and found that the Thursday night staff had found the wallet and put it in the safe. We can’t thank the staff enough for their honesty and integrity . A BIG THANK YOU.
The restaurant staff was efficient and friendly, serving generous portions of food, although sometimes too much. The quality of the food was excellent, tasting like well-prepared home cooked meals.
The restaurant used to have a great menu and reputation, but unfortunately, it has declined in recent months. It may have been just a bad day for them, but the food arrived cold at our table.
Not as good now Charlie has left used to be one of the best dinners in Mackay they have gone through halve a dozen cooks since he has left no one up to the standard that we all loved Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Just went for dinner , had lovely salmon . Very crowded as a night where meals were cheap ! Looked a very well established business with lots of facilities.
