Norval Pancake Factory

Where to start? Something has transformed the diner from an absolute must, to a place that needs serious help. Today my eggs arrived raw. The waitress did notice as she put the plate down but two other of our group also had raw eggs that was not noticed. We did have a large group, so I know that's a challenge for wait staff and our meals all arrived in stages, separated by 5 minutes per dish. So another wait person came out and poured waters instead of bringing food. The priority is to get food out first, why water became so important is anyone's guess, but customer service has become a distant memory here. This was not our first visit to Norval Pancake Factory, likely won't be our last. We first started going to this place when it was actually located in Norval...just east of Georgetown along Hwy 7. On this particular visit, the food was a good as ever, though a typical Bacon & Eggs breakfast. I was surprised that it costs considerably more since the last time I visited, which is about 2 years ago or so. The biggest difference however was in the service. It wasn't horrible, in fact, the waitress was extremely friendly, polite and professional. But it was slow. We used to LOVE this place & went at least 4 times a month but they have gone way down hill since moving. At first we thought it was growing pains and we've tried hard to continue to be supportive over the years since, but I think we are pretty much done. Service is so slow, even during non-busy times. Food is often not under cooked. It's true, portions are still very large, but prices have gone through the roof. I don't mind paying for good food and service, but it definitely seems to be lacking here now. It's a shame because this used to be such a gem.

Went in early on a Thursday morning. Service was good. My guest had the eggs on a mountain and what a mountain it was! Mostly their home style potatoes piled up and topped with veggies, sausage (I believe, my friend had it) cheese and then eggs. He's a big guy and couldn't finish it, took the mostly leftover potatoes home. I had the eggs Benedict with spinach and it was perfect and also came with their house made potatoes. Had never visited old location, finally visited new location for lunch based on word of mouth recommendations. Ample portion in omelette, home fries very salty, coffee not hot. Curious decor for a pancake house but service prompt and friendly, bathrooms clean. Better prices can be found elsewhere for comparable meal.

I've been here 3 times in the past and I can't believe I haven't reviewed it before! This is an easy to miss place and if I'm going here it's an intentional

Dropped in for lunch, had sand which which was good, but Caesar was over dressed. Server was very good, very friendly. Coffee not as strong as I like.

good place for breakfast, parking is a mess with all the other stores, and of course they are not located in Norval anymore.

I get that they were popular and in too small a place in Norval but now it's lost its charm and is just another restaurant.
