I was hesitant to try Jiu Jitsu for years, but coach Alexandre's academy changed everything for me. My husband has been training for a while, but I never felt comfortable in larger gyms with loud music and lots of people. However, at Novaes Jiu Jitsu Academy with coach Alexandre Novaes, it feels completely different. The atmosphere is peaceful and welcoming as soon as you walk in, the mats are clean, and the coach himself greets you warmly. I have been training in Jiujitsu for over 12 years and this is by far the best and most technical instruction that I've ever had. On top of that the professor, Alexandre, is one of the best humans I've ever met in my life, and I consider him a mentor, not just in jiujitsu, but in life. The studio is immaculately clean and the other members here make it feel like a family. Being able to trust your training partner and having proper instruction from a true master of this martial art is invaluable for safety and progression. From beginners to black belts I can't imagine that there is a better place to train Jiujitsu around.
I've been training with Coach Novaes for 5 years and have enjoyed every moment, in his gym, and around the wonderful culture he has created for students and their families. Coach Alex has lead me to multiple championship titles and a world championship Gold Medal. The atmosphere of each class is energetic and positive with multiple levels of learning and progression for all. . I studied under Professor Novaes when he was at Fight Forum in La Crescenta. He is hands down the best instructor I have ever had, and I have had quite a few. His attention to detail when demonstrating techniques is truly incredible. Private lessons with him are even better. I am disappointed that I am now far away from the academy. I would love for him to create a video series similar to the Gracie academy, as it would be a fantastic alternative.
What a fun family friendly place!! It encourage fitness, fun and it's becomes a family.. we help each other learn more and support each as we get promoted!
