O Canteiro is a buffet type restaurant/cafeteria with Vegetarian and Vegan options. Most days you have menu options which include a dish for which you will pick your buffet choices, and varied additional options like fresh juice, soup, deserts and others. On Sundays you have an all you can eat Brunch with several options. The food is of a good level for a buffet, nothing too fancy or chic, but food for all tastes. Given it is an all day available vegetarian buffet, I do give it max evaluation on TripAdvisor, it does deserve it. If you are a vegetarian in Setúbal go here, you will not be disappointed.
I visited O Canteiro during my visit to Setubal and was really pleasantly surprised with all the dishes! Super flavourful and all vegetarian and many vegan options. You definitely get your money's worth, as you can choose from a lot of different dishes and veggies. The the owner is super welcoming and nice, so I would definitely recommend visiting this place as a vegetarian in Setubal!
I was in canteiro several times and I'm always happy when I go. my menu included a suppe (kitchen and bon soup,) 5 salgadinhos and whatever I wanted from the warm main courses (I had since with coffee sauce, mushroom risotto, roasted sweet potato and spinat) and a desert (I had a strawberry mousse.) everything was amazing
After a long train ride to Setubal we walked here from the station. This is a buffet style vegetarian restaurant where you select from a range of fresh salads, fruits and savoury items. I must admit this was my first visit in a year! I was very pleased to see that not only is their food still amazing, they are now open for dinner too! Mondays to Thursdays until 10 pm. Order your birthday cakes (vegan and/or gluten free) Want homemade seitan? They sell it! They also have takeaway!
We had dinner at O Canteiro and it was really good! The fresh juice was great and they also have delicious dessert and the people are so nice! We felt very welcome and hat a great evening there!
Fresh creations every day. Amazing value for money and subtle veggie and fruit flavours. Plus wonderful gluten free pastries. Great for a stop outside designated lunch and dinner hours.
