This cafe/restaurant lies just beneath the castle at the top of the hill. It's a steep walk/cycle up if you're fit enough (walking stairs then flat road then stairs then flat road just don't rush! . Otherwise, the Vigo town tourist bus can drop you there and I think there is a local bus that also passes O Castro. You can drive up to the restaurant, but the free parking is usually taken very early by locals working in town. I love the peace and quiet of this setting. O Castro lies at the end of the road up the hill so through traffic is negligible. This bar/ cafe is located perfectly for when visiting the Parque Monte del Castro. A cooling breeze and plenty of outdoor seating is very welcome on a warm day. The inside is a bit dated, but clean and offers a wide range of drinks, snacks and meals. I enjoyed that we weren't rushed from our table and were able to take in the surrounding area and views and our leisure.
We visited the cafe during a relatively quiet time after a visit to the castle. We went inside to the counter and the staff totally ignored us. We went outside and waited for someone to come and take our order. Nobody did. There were plenty of pigeons and seagulls sitting on the table tops but no sign of a waiter, pure ignorance.
