Going out for a meal during the pandemic was a special treat, and my experience at The Oaks Restaurant was truly memorable. The menu was impressive, featuring a variety of dishes made with locally sourced produce. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful in describing the dishes. I started with the chicken parfait, served with warm bread and relish, which was delicious. For my main course, I chose the Lakeland lamb, cooked perfectly with fresh potatoes and seasonal vegetables. The highlight of this restaurant is its beautiful grounds and front entrance, especially the fountain and rustic old country house look. Unfortunately, the interior is disappointing. It appears old and outdated, and in need of a thorough cleaning and update. Despite being a pricey establishment, the ambiance felt more like a casual dining spot. The food was underwhelming, with the scallops dish being a messy presentation and the mains lacking in taste and presentation. The palate cleansers were simply placed in front of us without explanation. Dessert was decent, but overall, the dining experience fell short of fine dining standards. I've eaten at many restaurants throughout the Lakes over the last particularly in this area, and I am thrilled that I have finally found Broadoaks Oaks Restaurant. Just WOW. This is what exceptional dining experiences are all about, in my opinion — attentive and...well educated waiting staff who were an absolute pleasure to chat to. Wine pairing recommendations are important to me and Robi's suggestion did not disappoint. All were visually beautiful and each bite was a taste sensation. I've eaten at many Michelin graded restaurants and this is up there with them in my opinion. And such a magical secluded place set amongst majestic woodlands very romantic! I can't wait to go back!
We enjoyed a delicious meal at Oaks restaurant. Our multi-course feast began with the delightful Coquilles St Jacques, followed by perfectly cooked lamb, and ended with a delicious Creme Brûlée. Each of my dining companions ordered something different, but every plate was cleared with lots of satisfied nodding all around. Bravo!

Breakfast served at very civilised times allowing for the luxury of a lie-in! Plenty of choice and if you wanted something that wasn't on the menu, you only had to ask. Dinner was delicious, excellent choices and a good range of wines offered. Service attentive...but not intrusive.
We have dined here on a number of occasions and the food is always to the highest standard as is the varied menu choices. Carefully prepared with the finest ingredients and beautifully presented. Would highly reccomend, and very much looking forward to our next visit.
We had to arrive for food mins before our booking and were shown to the bar, relaxes and spoke for a bit. The staff were fabulous and gave great service throughout. The food was fantastic and I think you would like every option.
My daughter and son in law were married here in June and it was magical. The staff were very helpful, the venue perfect and the food was delicious. I would highly recommend this place either for a short break or wedding venue

the house is incredible and the food and wine are delicious. we tried the house red not something we ever do but somehow we had a feeling we wouldn't be disappointed. We weren't!
Great wedding day dinner and fabulous breakfast the next day. Nothing too much trouble for any of the staff and great produce used.
