My husband and I ate dinner here last night and were very impressed! The food was spectacular! We had the Falafel tin, the gyro tin, grape leaves, lentil spinach soup, hummus and batklava. The lamb was So tender and soft- pretty sure the best lamb meat I have ever had. My husband loved the falafel tin. The hummus was out of this world amazing! You can tell this restaurant takes pride in their homemade cooking! The place itself has cute wall paintings and pictures of the Mediterranean. Super cute! I've dined here numerous times, and I can confidently say their hummus is the best I've tasted in Salt Lake City. The food is consistently fresh and flavorful. Makhshi tin has become one of my favorites. However, today I ordered two tins for my partner and myself and was disappointed to find that neither contained the delicious baked eggplant I was expecting. While I'm let down, I plan to keep dining in at the restaurant, but I won't be ordering delivery again. Update: I'm thankful to the owner for providing a thoughtful solution. This is truly a classy, 5-star establishment.
I ordered the beef shawarma wrap, but traditional beef shawarma should come in pita, not a tortilla. The beef tasted like it was old and unpleasant. The yogurt dill sauce was watered down and smelled off. On the bright side, the falafel was surprisingly good, as I had never tried it before. However, it would have been nice to have tzatziki for dipping instead of a bland, foul-smelling sauce. Think twice before ordering or visiting this place. The photos of the menu are not accurate. Save your time and choose another restaurant.
The food here is usually fantastic, but my recent experience wasn't up to par. I ordered a falafel wrap, but ended up with lamb instead—not realizing until I'd taken a bite. The falafel burger is quite good, though the buns are just average. The Jerusalem burger may not appeal to everyone. The beef shawarma sandwich is decent. I went there because I was craving a falafel wrap. It's really convenient that you can place your order on a computer.
This is one of my favorite foods in SLC. Everything is fresh and large portions. Musaka is freakin awesome and I could eat oily stuffed grape leaves every day. They play cooking shows on the TV inside that are always extreme.
Absolutely fantastic! The service was prompt, warm, and friendly. There were so many delicious options on the menu, and ample seating available. We will definitely return!
