Writing this review while I’m waiting for my order. I was so hungry and there was no food places open in eve central so decided to go to this off the boat chippery. I’ve ordered medium chips which was $9, and the old lady said minimum eftpos is $10. There was nothing else I needed and she said that she can’t charge a service fee therefore she’ll have to charge $10. So, I’ve changed the chips to large one which is $13.50 thinking that I will enjoy some hot chips. after I finished paying she goes to me chips doesn’t come with sauce. Sauce is 30 cents each. I told the lady at the beginning I don’t have any cash. So how I’m supposed to pay for sauce 30 cents by card. When I asked her “ you could...
We had fish and chips from this restaurant, and they were fantastic. I’m quite particular about my fish and chips since I grew up in New Zealand, where finding a good fish and chip shop can be challenging. We live in Clyde and have sampled fish and chips from various places in Berwick, Cranbourne, and Clyde. I can honestly say that this place is the closest I've found to a New Zealand-style fish and chip shop. The older gentleman and lady who work there are very polite; I'm not sure where the negative comments in some reviews are coming from, as we've only had positive experiences with them. I encourage others to judge for themselves and keep up the great work!
First time I ordered from here, pleasant experience. Went back for a second time, ordered some snapper and some extras and there were a total of 13 bones in the snapper. Rang the store and the old fella there told me I don't know what I'm talking about, there are always 4 to 5 bones he can't do anything about it and was all round rude to deal with. I'm sorry but what fish and chip store allows bones in there fish. In NZ and with any fish and chip store you should be able to chomp into your meal without a care in the world. I didn't give you one star because your other items are a fairly tasty treat but I won't be back after that conversation.
Waited 1hr for some chips and 3 burgers only for everything to be cold. Absolutely no care in the world. Ask how much longer and you get ignored. Owners are so rude. Never again will I give this place my business nor will I be referring them to friends. Put a call to the shop for Angelo to yell at me so I hung up. I absolutely love this place! The couple who runs it is really kind, and they always give you plenty of chips! Their chips are perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They also get the salt level just right every time! I always order the mumie fish, which is incredibly juicy and delicious – never dry. This is definitely our go-to fish and chip shop! Highly recommended!
Went in the other day and it was fairly busy; witnessed the so called owner degrade one of the workers. Not sure what goes on in there but that was extremely hard to watch and most likely humiliating to do in front of customers and I hope that their okay. Food was ehh… edible in a sense… mostly just soggy and oily. idk man ur better off else where tbh
I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The service was friendly and attentive, the food was of great quality, and the prices were reasonable. I've tried several fish and chip shops closer to my home, but this place is now my favorite. None of the nearby options can match the service and quality I found here.
Supporting local businesses during this challenging times, we ordered by phone a couple of different fish, a variety of souvlaki, potato cakes and minimum chips to feed a hungry mob for dinner. yo this fish and chip shop is very underestimated. a nice quiet mood with the menu with reasonable travel ngl, eating came quite fast, packed with quality. the two hired were as cold. they'll call everyone.
