My husband and I went last Saturday for the first time, we had the Valentine’s Brunch. We heard about this place before, we were amazed because it is absolutely beautiful, the service was good, very nice and friendly staff. However the food was not even close to what we were expecting, very overpriced for what they’re offering. There was one detail that really upset me, they were offering fresh squeezed orange juice in the menu and I even asked the waitress if the juice was really fresh because isn’t usual in most of the places in NY; she confirmed it was but it wasn’t, we immediately noticed it by the taste. Delicious food with amazing view. Food is great, I had Shrimp Scampi, coffee and desert. Pasta was great, good price and nice portion. Coffee was also good. Desert was a little weird, I took “berries and cream” and it’s basically fresh berriesinside chocolate bowl with whipped cream on top. I like it, but it’s not for everyone, so be aware. My friend had “appletart” and it was delicious. Prices are absolutely fine for NY and especially for such beautiful establishment. And after yourmeal you can go outside and enjoy magnificent landscape.
First time dining in this restaurant. Food was ok with good customer service , Prices are on the high end and sides are extra and not included with your meal. We ordered two eggs Benedict with breakfast potatoes and the final bill was 62.00 dollars forbreakfast not including tip. I am not used to paying close to 80 dollars for breakfast for two and I feel the eggs Benedictwasn't worth that price tag. I guess you are paying for the ambiance. This is a special occasion only type of restaurant andexpect to pay top dollar.
I've been to OHK in the past and while the estate is beautiful, it's the people who truly make it a rare and special place. Recently I went there again and was quickly reminded of that. It's easy to say the estate restaurant is a wonderful experience but so often left forgotten why because of all the people who work there, that make it so wonderful. Beautiful place! However it was hard to find the right road to the entrance at night (it took us to the employee parking). We also showed up for our reservation and had to wait about 45 minutes to be seated (must make reservation). Food was delicious but about as expensive as you’d expect for a castle. Excited to go back during the day to see more of the place. Service: Dine in
Service was great. Ambiance was nice. The food however... Needs work for the price, the highlights of the meal were the crab cake and the cheese sauce served with the bread. The chicken was overcooked and dry. The French dip and burger were decent. Thelobster roll was in my opinion one of the worst I have eaten.
A most wonderful place and great food. Was very nice to meet Jerry, who is a great people person and very kind to my kids. Took great pictures and made memorable moments in such a beautiful place; both the Garden/Grounds and the Castle. -mjm, MD/JAAT21
I met a friend here for dinner. It was a true dining experience. From the awesome staff, great food, smooth drinks, and spectacular views, we’ve already planned to return!
