We stoped in this very pretty village on our coach tour( The Blanket Tour). Ojen is one of the villages in this area which is built into a very steep hill. We had 30 minutes to play with, so started to explore down one of the steep winding alley ways. In the middle of the village, about 5 minus walk down from the main road, we found a small square. There was a bank which was most welcome as we were running out of cash and wanted tip the coach driver. We saw this bar and stopped to sample the local drink, a mixture of aniseed brandy. Yummy it was delicious and only 2€ each. What a relaxing break. Times up and we must get back to our coach.
After being all but kicked out of a restaurant in the vicinity (simply because they decided to open late and be rude to prospective customers), we were very pleasantly surprised with this little place. It's very basic but the food was very good, their sangria highly recommended, and although the owners didn't know much English, they did their very best to welcome us, understand what we wanted and to us their best service. They offer value for money We had a variety of food from the menu from tapas to full portions and all are very recommended. Keep it up!
On the hillside above Marbella lies the village of Ojen. Here we sat (4 people at an outdoor table at a small bar (named Bar El Tapeo in the middle of the village. It was a nice moment and pleasant local dining experience. The ladies ate fried squid pretzels and I got several platters of fried minnows (salmontte? . For this meal we had local wine very good and cheap! Fantastic service, easy and enjoyable.
Clinging to the side of a mountain this is your typical white Andalucian village. We took the direct Ojen road from Marbella which twists and turns around the mountain. Glad we did this drive in daylight. Our return journey was via the Coin road which was preferable. Lovely vired of the coast and mountains by either route. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
It's only a short drive from marbella. We drove there, wandered around the narrow streets and enjoyed a cold drink in the square. The square has a church, fountains and beautiful lemon trees. It's worth a visit if you want a change of pace.
This is a great little village only 20 mins from the center of Marbella but feels like you are miles away from it all. Very friendly people great little square in the middle to have a beer, coffee or food
