The receptionist was the lone bright spot. Our waiter was slow, awkward and disappointing through out the entire meal. He disappeared after taking our drink orders and when he finally came back with them he reeked from cigarette smoke. The yellowtail collar was mostly overcooked. The shrimp tempura in the various rolls was soggy. Overall the rolls were mediocre at best and completely uninspiring. The sushi was decent, led by the tuna, which was actually pretty good. It was my daughter's 21st birthday. They never made mention of it, despite the balloons, nor did they bring her a free desert. The ambiance is tired. The food is always consistent here. Super fresh fish. Cooked items are spot on in regards to presentation, flavor profiles, temperature of proteins. Service can have a missed opportunity here and there but overall very good, ie.: forgotten limes for drinks, ,table touches in a timely matter, ran out of sparkling water early on a Saturday night. Always a must visit for us whenever in Laguna Beach. Absolutely one of the better restaurants in Laguna Beach.
Servers were in the weeds. Only 2 that we saw for the whole restaurant on a summer evening in a resort town, so waiting for service was exceptionally long. Bartender disappeared for approximately 20 minutes so server couldn’t get our drink order in. No forks offered to kids or a kid’s menu. Beautiful food presentation, but not nearly as good as other sushi options in Laguna Beach. Felt like a dying restaurant. We’re local, not returning or recommending.
This spacious restaurant is located in its own building, situated approximately halfway between the main town and Surf and Sand Resort. Despite some reviews mentioning slow service, we found the staff to be very attentive. The food was superb, particularly the fresh fish, and we highly recommend trying the Mango Tango roll. The Japanese Mule cocktail was also generously poured. We highly recommend checking out this place!

Arrived and the restaurant did not look very well kept on the inside. My menu was sticky and dirty with soy sauce. The room had many open tables but we were seated in a corner, next to a cement wall that was full of cracks and bugs were coming in and out of those cracks. The food was also bland, especially the sushi rolls. I would not recommend this restaurant.
Our party was 2 older couples and although there was mostly a younger crowd in the restaurant we were comfortable. The food was excellent and much better that any other sushi restaurant in town. We are Laguna residents and have always considered this the best sushi in town.
We frequently dine at Okura’s LaQuinta location and have found the Laguna Beach location to be everything we’ve grown to expect. We had a wonderful time and the food was great.
Love this place for the food and drinks. The sushi rolls, robota, and garlic edamame are our go-tos. The sushi is always very fresh and the rolls are delicious.

everything we ate was delicious. the starters were great and the sushi was excellent. the service was excellent and friendly.
Service was horrible we waited over 1h30 for our food... The food is too expensive for the quality that it is.
