The staff member who served me was very rude. When I asked to see the menu, I was told they didn't have one. When I requested a sandwich, I was questioned about the last time I had been there, which was about 4 years ago. I mentioned that I had been there 18 months ago before Covid when they were serving food. I ended up just having a coffee outside, where the tables were dirty and there was debris on the ground. The staff member was disrespectful and had uncovered henna tattoos on her hands. If this small business wants to attract customers, they need to improve their customer service and cleanliness standards.
I stopped by Tarporley, where I used to live until about 11 years ago, on my way to Wales, hoping to find a place for a quick drink and bite to eat. However, that plan fell through on a Sunday morning. There were only two places open, and since one was busy, I decided to try the Old Fire Station. Unfortunately, it was a letdown. The drinks and food were fine, as were the staff, but that's about all I can say. The restaurant had a slightly rundown vibe and felt a bit cramped between the tables. They did their best to adhere to COVID-19 guidelines given the circumstances.
Apprehensive about going anywhere due to Covid19 but everything had been done to make it as safe as possible. Great tasting coffee served with biscuit and a piece of chocolate. Excellent Homemade Scone was warmed and served with butter and jam (it was the end of the afternoon so they had run out of clotted cream). Cakes looked good too. I've cream was popular. Friendly staff. Chocolate shop had a lovely selection of chocolates and truffles, and fudge made on site.
What a pleasure it was to shop here, like going back to a time when people interacted with the shops staff, super friendly staff . Gorgous products on sale, something a bit different , quality in abundance . Staff shared their plan to support the community in the present climate with the uninvited Corona virus, Tarporley should be commended for this initiative. We spent a lovely hour here sipping Tea and eating cake. The two pots of tea were served with additional hot water to ensure we could enjoy an extra cup. The atmosphere was very homely with areas where small children could play with games on the floor while teir parents enjoyed their drinks also welcomes well behaved dogs.
The staff here were all very friendly and welcoming, even though we just needed a quick morning drink after meeting up with the rest of our family. They didn't mind that we moved the chairs around, or that some of us didn't want anything. Would be very happy to go there again. Thank you very much!
They still have the old red doors of the old fire station in this beautiful coffee shop. Lovely atmosphere and they even provide loads of daily newspapers, magazines and books to read. Nice comfortable seats and good Americano and selection of cakes. It had a really nice feel about it

Fantastic little place. Probably the best cake I have had. Perfect if you're out cycling and need that boost to get you home. I must say it's a stunning village as well. Very clean and friendly
