My wife and I stayed here on 23rd March 2022. Great place to stay whilst in Knaresborough. Located right in the centre of the town. Real pub with real beers and real people and it has it's own secure car park at rear with lots of CCTV. The owners and staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. The accommodation is detached from the pub at the rear overlooking the car park. The rooms were clean and tidy and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. The cooked breakfast in the morning was a large proper English Breakfast with superb black pudding, bacon and sausage. We will definitely be staying here again in the very near future. Very biker friendly place to stay.
What a lovely surprise! We were just passing through looking for a possible Sunday lunch and happened to park right outside the most wonderful carvery yum and lasagna from main menu what a friendly atmosphere generated mainly by Diane the bar manager she was full of information had good chats with everyone generating a true social environment everyone who was there didn’t remain strangers for long! This is what a pub lunch is all about and more many thanks next time though make me have the smaller option ….
Absolutely fantastic Sunday roast. Selection of 4 meats, beef, pork, turkey and gammon. Roast& mash potatoes, runner beans, cabbage, carrots, stuffing, giant Yorkshire puddings and extra thick gravy. All the condiments, Apple sauce, horseradish, pickles ect. Great service, really friendly staff. £11 adults snd £7:50 kids. Can’t cook it at home for that price.
We stayed at the Old Royal Oak for the 2022 Knaresborough Bed Race. From the moment we arrived (earlier than the advertised check in) to checking out we cannot fault our stay. The room was immaculate very comfy. The rooms are separate from the pub are very private peaceful. Breakfast was amazing. Thank you guys. We will see you again soon x
great stay nice room, very comfortable bed, great fresh cooked breakfast cooked on their specifications. the pub is popular and lively without being rebellious and the timothy taylor’s landlord was held to perfection. will be back.
Staff very nice. Breakfast was lovely. Room was clean. Just a really small thing, would have liked a glass in the bathroom to put our toothbrushes in. Otherwise a lovely stay
