One of Chinatowns best kept secrets till recently went to this restaurant 3 years back when the clientele was all Chinese and the menu was in Chinese too that has changed.... The soup dumplings are to die for ... Juicy and taut and bursts with flavor in ur mouth ... Don't go crazy when they bring the dumplings . Let it cool just a minute or two before u jump in.. U might burn ur lips I did The slow cooked pork tongpo pork is another signature here ...with steamed bread this dish is a delight the real thing as opposed to the momofuku pork buns at their outrageous prices Good lunch specials... Even general Tso chicken tastes different crispier than the run of the mill restaurants ...

Great food, lackluster service. The Peking duck and Shanghai beef lo mein were two of the best I've ever had. The environment was nice, but we were seated with another couple at the same table while there was still plenty of seats in the restaurant. The service was nothing to rave about, but they still took 25% tip without my consent. I also noticed that most of the wait staff decided to take their lunch break at the same time in the dining room just as there was a rush in the restaurant. None of them made any effort to attend to the influx of customers. Overall the service left a bad taste in my mouth even though the food was amazing.
Thought Gen Tso would be a bit different in China Town....but it was...Gen Tso. I suppose should have ventured a bit further afield in my taste. The chicken was cooked perfect but it wasn't spicy. Sticky rice and broccoli rounded out the dish. Both were perfect. I suppose it was a perfect Gen Tso although a bit on the mild side.My wife had the chicken lo mein...about the same as you can get outside of China Town.Restaurant decor is what I would expect in China Town, servers did a good job.Drinks are in cans, and it can be crowded in there.I would go back, but venture a bit further on the pallette next time.
I happen to think.... ... that Yeah Shanghai Deluxe has the best soupy dumplings in town. The braised pork belly is delicious, as is the stewed pork with bean curd sheets. I can also recommend the sauteed pea shoots and the salt and pepper shrimp. Everything I've ever eaten here has been an absolute delight. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
You might feel a little rushed, but the servers are actually just being attentive in my opinion... that being said, don't forget the Shanghainese soup dumplings in your order, really the reason for coming here in the first place.
We just stopped for tea a small meal but the shumai dumplings were light, fresh and delicious! The scallion pancake was good too. FWIW lots of Frommer's and other travel rec's posted.
Here are my up's ?? and down's ??...?? Food?? Service?? Price (rather expensive)?? Ambiance?? Tip is included on the bill..!!
TL;DR - there's better food in Chinatown for the same price, but if you're in a rush and just need food, it's not bad. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
