Old Stone House Warwick Ny

My much anticipated visit to this location turned out to be a bust in all the areas I base this review. Our seating in the main dining room was loud crowded. The dreaded common bench' squeezed multiple tables together so that one had to be very mindful about not brushing up against a neighbor's table. The noise level was so high, my wife and I were unable to carry on a normal conversation. The food was the next disappointment. I appreciate well plated dishes, but it must work. Mine did not. I ordered the Faroe Island Salmon. The delicata squash was a pile of squash rings with the rind still attached. Edible, perhaps, but they were hard and chewy. An advertised green chili sauce was replaced...

If you have had the opportunity to dine across the Warwick area I think you understand what I’m about to say. The Warwick area is an incredible place to spend time, shop, enjoy a beer or glass of wine or pop into a local restaurant for their local faire. The options are about as robust as they can be for a small town and for somebody who lives here I can can say I’m as lucky as they come.Now for the Stone House Inn…the atmosphere, attention to detail, quality of food…regardless of what you are looking for, the stone house will knock your socks off. Had a great experience for our first time dining here. The inn is beautiful, cozy and intimate. Our sever was very friendly. I had the Beet Root salad and the Skillet Chicken and both dishes were delicious. My husband had the Shrimp Cocktail and the Short Ribs and he enjoyed both dishes very much as well. Dessert was the Flourless Chocolate cake and a scoop of Coffee ice cream and both were delicious as well. Cocktails were good but not very strong. We look forward to coming back.

eating is delicious and well refined, though expensive (what is to be expected). beautiful cocktail, beer and wine selection. the service is good, but a little slow. server itself are very human. the ambiente is great. they did a phenomenal job that refurbished the abbey. look at the lounge above.

Very nice decor. Food very well prepared and seasoned. Staff very pleasant. Excellent experience.
