First time here. Seen this place since we moved to Canada in 1996. But for some reason we as a family never went here. Then when I found out it was fine dining, I was hesitant to come here at first. I love Old Surrey Inn, it's definitely my go to restaurant, however, the previous two visits, prior to my last, I was underwhelmed and had no intention of going back... Salad had too much vinegar, which made it inedible. We, as usual, took the 4 course meal, I chose chateau briand because my girlfriend loves it, but I'll admit, that I was pissed, that they didn't serve filet mignon and I didn't enjoy the steak they replaced it with at all. update: last night again visited. still the best in this side of the river. table side made cäsar salat was still amazing. the current $80 jubiläumsset was great. the services were wonderful. they kept our ice-water glasses filled and often controlled with us. a rare, fine restaurant outside the city of vancouver. love it - never was disappointed. I only have a handful of fine dinning restaurant s that I would always come back. that's one of them. there are reasons why this restaurant celebrates 45th year. was brought here to birthday and we had a great time. the service was fantastic! and the restaurant has a really nice mood in the inner, it is cozy and intimate. we had such a great time that we accidentally stayed an hour after the closing time (screaming out to the staff for being so sweet about eating here is great. we started with caesar salad and chicken for our main course. for desserts we have both tiramisu and pear galette. we couldn't enjoy the desserts as we were so full. definitely recommend to come here! Wife took me out for our Anniversary my Birthday dinner celebration. Old Surrey did not disappoint. Great food, Fantastic service and really nice ambiance. We started off with Fresh Oysters, then wife got the Fish of the Day, While I got the Seafood Platter. Really fresh And tasty, portions were great. Night was capped off with a complimentary Birthday cake slice together with a birthday song from server Nick partner.Will surely come back to taste the other specialties.
We came in with a group of 8, all of our first time dining at The Old Surrey. Phenomenal service from our server Mike. Very professional and attentive and you can tell the staff is very well trained in what they do. The table side Caesar salad and flambé was entertaining and added an extra element of service. The food was delicious and the menu had something for everyone, we will definitely be back. Thank you so much for the great experience!
eating was excellent - the best by far in surrey and surroundings. the service was perfect. it was a perfect evening. my only suggestion is that they add 6 and 9 ounces glaze by wein and have a few less expensive options - bottle less than $55. Thanks for keeping this fabulous place in motion. such a perfect restaurant for a special evening.
I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! Reservations are a must as it is always busy and in-demand. Every dish I tried was excellent and I have no complaints.
